Who's parts in FF have he most re-watch quality ten years later? Checked AO's part and feel like it doesn't really hold up. It was great back then though.

Probably Rick, Mike, the Brits and Lucas/JJ/JB. Those parts are great and I think Rick's part is one of the more underrated parts in that video.

I remember being shocked about what Rick and Mike did....in the context of the whole vid it may not seem nuts but those dudes were really old at that point and to pull that kind of skating as awesome.  I kinda think that part did Rick in.....

Yeah it's funny, AO's part was ahead of its time in the sense that it predated the super minimalist power skater movement of a few years later (think guys like Westgate or Nick Boserio) where all anybody was doing for a few years was going really really fast and doing ollies up and over stuff. But that whole style had its popularity post-Stay Gold and lasted a few years, and it's fallen back out of vogue again in favor of whatever the fuck you call what the kids are doing these days with their body varials and their golfer hooligan outfits. So if you watch AO's part now it doesn't seem to have held up so much as if you watched it a couple of years ago (not that going fast and ollieing over things will ever exactly be out of style).

I think Mike Mo's part holds up pretty well, minus the Arcade Fire. It's just really good skating without too many goofy gimmicks like all the ledge combos the other guys were doing at the time.

I said the same thing about pops part....it's more relatable now than any of his previous parts.....

It's just the ebb and flow of skateboarding....arcade fire is bad?  Pet shop boys and Yazoo is good?  Guys Ollie up shit , push, and then lip slide off now and no one says shit........can't really complain about Mike Mo.....

MJ's part being 3 songs seems like overkill now. A quarter of his part is DIY skatepark footage. I remember rumours that the last spot was fake too (in the Berra sense).

I think this was Biebel's best part.

Would love to see a ten year reunion special similar to what they did with That's Life.

I'd love for this to happen just to at least see if they can get pops to show up and see how awkward he is to everyone

Actually went to the premiere of this video at UCLA, it was pretty trippy it was like going to a big Hollywood blockbuster movie premiere and seeing every big time actor in the world in the theater at the same time.

I liked a lot of things about this video but I remember being especially hyped when Judas Priest kicked in to start Mike Carroll's part, also the intro because one of my homies who worked at Girl in the warehouse at the time was there when they filmed all that crazy pyrotechnic stuff and you can see him in there a little bit, also I saw him smoking a fat joint outside the theater after the video with Lucas, JB and the other French dude JJ Rousseau.

Crazy people watching in the lobby before and after, it was like the entire world of shredders was in one room.
Also after party was at some hot nuts Hollywood joint called Cinespace, I think it's closed nowadays but it was surreal in there with pretty much the entire cast of the video getting wasted all at once.

Doesn't feel like 10 years ago but then again when you're as old as me, 10 years ago feels like it was a few months ago sometimes.

I remember watching fully flared at a local skate shop premiere and it just overwhelmed me.  I remember saying to people after that it was 'too good'  and every trick was flip out,  it was too much.  I've got the DVD though it's definitely good after all. Mike mos part is stand out to me  (RIP his skating)

Well good point...but like dude said above, Jale Johnson's mindfield part dropped and sorta shitted on a lot of trends created by that video- I think both in terms of the actual skating in FF as well as the production/editing. That's purely subject obviously, but the direction of skateboarding in general definetly changed course- and here we are today. Which is fucking rad. Do you think FF is worth revisiting?

The only thing I was upset with this video was not getting a full Rob Welsh part. I thought he was going to add that SF flavor in the video but he ended up just getting what he got.

This thread made me watch the video in full again again, a lot of the ledge stuff holds up nicely. It's still crazy how stacked that lineup was, if a video with AO, Lucas, Danny Brady and Nick Jensen was coming out this year I would still lose my shit.

edit: Unrelated as fuck but the youtube wormhole eventually led me to Arto's mindfield part, he was GETTING it on that one...

I haven't watch the video in forever, so I've been on YouTube just going through parts.  I can't believe I forgot how much I enjoyed Cairo's part.

Have been rewatching parts, forgot about Cairo, Jesus, Welsh even being in this. Spot on with the recs, Allen! And yeah, certainly Beibel's best part. Wouldn't be all that surprised if that changed though.

Watching cairo's part reminded me this came out when I was a college freshman. I got the DVD in the mail but didn't have a player so I got some guys down the hall to let me watch it in their dorm. I think they were stoked on the intro but got pretty over it pretty fast. One of em liked Cairo's song...

Nosegrind at the alameda county courthouse is still very gnarly.

recently rewatched it again. it made me really miss this time in skating. (maybe just the absence of no complies and body various hahaha). i remember when it came out i really loved it, then within a few years i thought it sucked and was way overdone, then slowly i came to like it again. also watching MJ's part made me forgive him for the whole adidas scandal.

i second the idea of the 10-year anniversary special.

I was in middle school when Fully Flared came out. I was obsessed with it and watched it everyday. I had a burnt copy that my friend's and myself all shared.
This video put me on to Band of Horses and Q Lazzarus  for a long time, I remember. Pretty Sweet doesn't hold up against the influence of FF, in my opinion.

MC, Pops, AO, heavy line up. Fuck, I feel like I was more hyped on skating then  :(

I remember thinking Guy and Koston were getting old back when Fully Flared came out.
I remember thinking I was getting old when Fully Flared came out too (I'm 39 currently)
Can't believe it's already been 10 years but when I do the math, it checks out.

We had that video so damned hyped up, there were rumors of Koston nollie heel nose blunting one of the rails at Hollywood High.
Before the premiere Lakai was putting out little clips to get everyone on the hype train.
The sneak peek of Carroll had a sick line in it and everyone was saying "This must be throwaway!! Can you imagine what his real stuff is like?!!!!  :o   " I think Carroll replied back (via the crailtap page) that it was NOT simply throwaway and for everyone to calm the fuck down.
