Independent Trucks release 144 stage 11 model
« on: January 05, 2017, 06:39:23 PM »
Just got a sneak peak of Agenda releases and looks like Indy is finally doing A 144(8.25) truck.
Seems like A small niche between 139 and 149 but I guess enough people demanded it.

Oh man, that's great news. I was skating a pair of stage 8 146's (at least I think that's what they sized them as back then) and they were 8.25. Added a stage 11 forged plate to it and an inverted kingpin... best Indy's I've had. So many boards are 8.25 these days, it totally makes sense.

very cool but about ten years too late for me. as my beer guy expanded so did my comfort with 149s and 159s.

This is good, I don't want to skate indy's but I'm hoping this gets thunder and some other companies to start making 8.25's too.

Stage IIIs! 8 5/8" axle / 151 Hanger. That would be my truck, especially if they could tuck the kingpin away a bit.

i feel like there is actually alot of people who would skate an 8.25 indy, instead of having to do krux or ace.

Isn't that the size of the most popular deck size?  Makes sense no?

Yes it's one of the most used sizes in current times, but i think people who skate 8.25 and wanna ride indys have found their middle ground in either a 139 or 149. The 144 might just be to satiate those who nerd out over mm truck sizings, (see the truck thread). I'd be interested to see the design on a board before biting the bullet on something that may just sound good in theory.

This is great news. I was perfectly happy with 149's on an 8.25 but wanted to see if my board flipped better with a smaller size.  I tried some 44's last summer (I know, they're technically 8 3/8's) and while they were pretty solid, I may have to throw them on a cruiser. This is some Goldilocks shit.

I'll get some 144's  as soon as they are available. This might be the best thing to come out of Agenda this year.

i did hear a rumor that indy were also looking at making a standard truck that was in between a low and the current 11s.

could the 144s have new geometry also?

time to start losing sleep over this, truck nerds.

I agree but think of 144s on an 8 or 8.125. Probably a dream.

Maybe Reynolds will finally step up to 144s on his 8.5 instead of th 139s he's been riding for y ars lol.

This is legit

I liked 149s on 8.25 over 139s but it still felt off.

I didn't know what you were talking about until I checked out their website. They even have a bunch of Huf collabs, so what the fuck does, "select Huf retailers," even mean anymore?

Back on topic...I want to try a pair, but I've gotten so used to 149ers. Can someone possibly post pictures, so we can check out the shape of them?

This truck makes complete sense in that you can run an 8.25-8.5 super proper......I never liked the look of a 149 on an 8.25.....but....if everyone is already riding 149......no one ever down sizes trucks.....they just don't.....

you got me psyched, im very intrigued. i had a set of stage 10 standards i did like for a good moment, maybe theyll just redo the 10 with a better geometry. ill definitely get a set just to try.

Been a minute since I've been on the SLAP board but if I carried one thing from my time on here it was how good 149's feel on an 8.25.  Not sure I could ever go back.
