I love Louie Barletta, but it might be time to hang it up as brand manager and just focus on skating.

But isn't becoming a brand/team manager is usually the first step towards someone retiring from the pro ranks? There's still lots of talented guys on the team, but it's definitely lost the original vibe. It was the Tilt Mode/San Jose locals team. Now they force dudes to move to San Jose to be on the team (according to Ryan Lay). Similar to how Cliche's Euro vibe changed when they moved to Dwindle. And look how well that worked out.

That's why Fardel left, he didn't want to move to San jose

Normally I'd say you're right but it seems like he's still killing it and hasn't showed many signs of slowing down, skate-wise, so I don't see a need for him to retire.

Didn't he say somewhere that Oververt would be his last full part? I hope that isn't the case.

I'm younger so I don't remember how things were supposed to be, but just against what's out there now enjoi is (still?) really cool. The last thrasher had an interview with louie and it looked like rad trip. i loved oververt too so maybe i'm just stipid whatever but it's my favorite brand right now

Didn't Jerry Hsu refer to Weiger's board sales being low in a weekend buzz?

And that was years ago

Does Fardel have a board sponsor? I kinda forgot he even existed.

Here's the real question though: why the fuck does Marc Johnson have pro model bearings that come with an 80 page sketchbook and pencil (ad banner)?

Because if Marc Johnson is going to do something, he's going to overdo something.

80 pages is hardly enough to keep up with the creative ideas Marc has on an hourly basis.

Nike basically owns Numbers, Skate Mental, 917, and since they own Converse they also basically own Polar too.

Wieger's of the Enjoi team page - http://enjoico.com/team/

While he doesn't say Skate Mental, at the end of this Wieger says he has a new board sponsor -

this dude is mad underrated. that back tail with the long ass boards is one of the best ads ever. enjoi is was past its time. I liked that one ad with the "list of names brainstormed for Bag of Suck" and one of them being Bobby Puleos Greatest Mistake. That graphic of puleo with the lighting and the dumpster snorkeling ads were mad funny for the time. still never made sense of what he was doing on the team to begin with but it was tight. wonder if he has a bag of suck part on someones hard drive somewhere someone get puleo over here free max b

I shouldn't be surprised because it's SM but that graphic is terrible. Enjoi did the ginger intro joke way better.

It's a shame that their team is so awesome (Wieger, Curtin, Plunkett, Karsten, etc.) but I can never bring myself to buy any of their shit.
