Great part. Loved the song.

Maybe she wouldn't have to ride for fucking Meow if one of the more legit brands stepped up.

Maybe all of the dudes (decision makers) gushing over BA in his coming out doc could put their money were the mouth is and put out her board.

I think you're giving some good arguments and I actually agree with the must of them but we need to acknowledge that women are more limited physically wise as men. That's why there's no women that runs as fast as bolt, and its not because they don't work hard for it. Just women and men bodies are different and even if they push it hard they aren't able to do it. That's why we don't have mixed genders sport competitions, not just because of the absence of a penis on a women's body.
So yeah, skill wise that was a good part "for a girl", if we compare to the amount of skill shown on mens skating by today standards its lacking of course, but I think she's pushing the limits of her gender. In every other aspect we can judge it genderless and I thought it was good, with a cool flow, cool trick selection and a decent style. She rips!

Yeah, women aren't physically the same as men. When it comes to more conventional sports I would say most would be at a disadvantage. BUT THIS IS SKATEBOARDING! There are pros that are literally obese, some that are wanna be body builders, and some that are just skin and bone. There are children that are prodigies and grandpas that still kill it. There have been fucking midget pros! There isn't any sport that I know of that allows for such physical diversity. So yeah, I call bullshit that there is anything stopping women from skating at the same level as a guy.

I heard that Lacey was two months pregnant in most of that footage. I'd love to see your favorite skater put out the same part while carrying a fetus.

Your argument is still moot. Wee Man is never going to skate a 12 stair rail and even the 11 year olds out killing shit aren't gonna out and get buck switch flipping macba or whatever. If girls were truly able to skate at the same level as men, then we'd have seen Alexis or Lacey or whoever kickflip noseblunt Hollywood High or some shit. Lacey even said in an interview posted in the picnic table thread that she knows that she's not going to able to skate on the same level as most of the guys who are where she is in the skate world and that she instead just cares to focus on skating how she wants and doing it well.

You live in a bubble? Pancho Moler has jumped down some pretty big shit despite being a midget. Ten seconds on the internet would reveal that there are small children that are insanely good and COULD switch flip macba if given the chance to go there. That's ignoring the countess number of pros and ams that got recognized for their skill at a young age since the beginning of skateboarding. You telling me Ryan Sheckler sucked when he was a kid? The guy was probably better then and Lacey could have beat the shit out of him. Yeah, I still call bullshit that no girl ever will be able to do the same shit on a skateboard that male midgets and children can do. If all pros were roided up muscle bound freaks then maybe I could see how girls would be at a disadvantage but that couldn't be further from the truth for skateboarding. Lacey can do whatever makes her happy but for all girls to just accept that they will never be as good as guys at skateboarding, despite there being such variance in physicality in pros, is a terrible outlook to have if you actually want more women to enter skateboarding.

I think this can be argued over endlessly on a theoretical level, but hasn't a little Japanese girl recently grinded a 20 stair handrail? Pretty sure I saw that. Still prefer Lacey's style and tech, though.

its like watching porn.

sometimes i watch top "pros" do it. they do super hard positions i couldn't ever pull off and fuck for like 50 minutes straight. cool to watch. can't deny the skill.

other times i want to watch something more mellow and "amateur". stuff is more laid back and relatable. not necessarily as difficult. still has its place.

depends on your mood, neither is necessarily better

... i think i got sidetracked a little

But I also enjoy a nice hand job no comply off the curb. Im just glad theres alot more porn options nowdays.

Good part. She's improved a lot since Bombshell and I liked how the ender trick to that part was her opener in this part. Pretty good style too.

I feel rather conflicted about Lacey Baker. One one hand, it's lame that the techest female skater is forced to take on other jobs to supplement her income. One the other hand, she intentionally makes herself look and sound as unmarketable as possible. I get that she doesn't feel comfortable wearing girly clothes. I don't feel very comfortable wearing a suit in meetings at my job, but I want the job, so I dress in the manner necessary to get my employer to pay me. It's like, dress however you want, but don't expect people to pay you for it.

her fits have been compared on this thread to heath and dylan, whether or not she is suceeding, she is clearly trying. Or are you saying that you think she should dress more like a "girl"? I think she looks pretty good doing her thing.

The issue I have is not with her clothes. It's the fact that she has noticed that female skaters who dress girly tend to have greater financial success than those who don't, because that's what the industry wants, and has deliberately chosen not to dress girly because she doesn't want to. Upon consciously choosing to make a fashion statement she fully understands will hurt her financially, she then whines endlessly about not having financial success.

In a world where some people end up broke despite doing everything they can to avoid it, I have little sympathy for someone who choses that route when they have the choice not to. Perhaps in the normative sense, the skateboard industry should only care about tricks and not looks, but that's not what happens in the positive sense. She doesn't want to look girly when she skates contests? So what? I don't want to look professional in Hedgeopolis or Delivering Alpha. I do what my employer wants, and if I didn't, I wouldn't complain about being broke. She's lashing out at the industry for not bending around to suit her.

calling Corey Duffel...

Seriously though, duffman looked/looks like a total clown and nearly kooked himself out of the industry for saying some stupid ass racist shit and was still able to make it off skating. Skill level aside, pretty wack to say that female skaters need to "play the game" more than their male counterparts. This is skateboarding, not hedgepoll or whatever the fuck you're talking about

I don't follow the girl skate scene that closely but other than Leticia, the two most successful skaters that come to mind are Elissa and Marisa,  neither are exactly dressing up like Barbie...
