50 180's
« on: February 28, 2017, 04:28:14 PM »
Does anyone really know how to do front 50 back 180s? Not pivot on the ground 180s but turn out halfway on a ledge. I don't understand how anyone can scoop that back foot off the ledge without flipping the board. One of the sickest looking ledge tricks IMO.

Like popout back 180?

You just gotta turn your shoulders first and ollie away from the ledge before you start the 180. The turning of the 180 is almost kinda late

at least thats the way i do it.

Okay okay I'll try that. My board always ends up flipping when I try to pop or scoop it off the ledge. I just don't understand how people 180 half way off the ledge without hitting the ledge with their board. I don't know, guess I'm not trendy enough.

Jump backwards and powerslide whatever is left

I like doing the b/s 50-50 f/s oop 180 it's a good setup trick for a line

can you do alley oop bs 180s up curbs? It't the same feeling. However the 180 up the curb is probably harder haha

I can do it up curbs the hard way but its usually an ollie with a really late 180. I'd say 76% ollie, 22% sliding, 2% hoping my wheels are slick enough to slide the 180.

Have more of your front foot on the board during the 5050, so it will keep the board flat when you scoop the 180 with your back foot.

this, and you can scoop your back foot a little so the board doesn't get out from under it when you're rotating

Back foot more towards your toe-side pocket and get your shoulders going about 45 degrees before you pop. When you pop pull yourself away from the ledge and face where you expect to land.

Also, a bit of a cheat could be to look to where your front truck needs to land and to try to hit the front wheels on that spot and then do a late revert. Maybe get started doing something like this and work into making it look less "revert". I don't know, it could help you learn them this way but make sure you eventually let the biggest part of the revert go and try to do a full 180 before landing.

ollie,grind,backside 180.

All of these I've seen basically require some pre-shoulder turn to pop out or hip shaking to kinda spin it and powerslide out, gotta get those moves like Jagger. I think it's easier to set up for if you do a longer grind, unless you have quick feet like a mongoose

Damn I left my bubbler at my parents house
