Griptape
« on: March 07, 2017, 11:00:16 AM »
I'm realitivly new to skating and am wondering about grip. For the past 7 months I've used jessup grip because it came free with my boards. I'm using mob right now and I like it but just wondering if there's something better. I notice that my shoes don't grip all that well and start to kinda slip a little after about 1-2 weeks. I've used different shoes and it's the same. So I'm thinking it's the grip. I want something that has a little more grip. Thanks.

I think it really varies.   I've heard several people say colored griptape will lose grip faster than plain black.  Also, maybe it's just me, but it seems like clear griptape is a lot rougher to me and holds it longer.  I've only had clear a few times (and I'm 41) but every time I've used it, it seems to rip through my shoes faster and hold a rough grip for a long time.  Maybe it's just my mind tricking me because it's clear or something.  Honestly it seems like all the big brand griptape isn't a bit better than the plain ol' generic stuff at the skateshop that's on a 100 foot roll.
