you like music? learn to play an instrument. you'll suck at first, but once you learn a few basics you'll suck a little less. some used gear from the pawn shop and some youtube tutorials are all you need.

Ive been wanting to do this for years. I am absolutely terrible on every instrument, and been kicked off the drums and guitar to be replaced by an 8 year old. Cant even make it through a Ramones song. However, I still want to do it. Ever use that Guitar Smith game on Xbox? One day I'll try again though...


I'd have to play Ramones songs at half speed to make them sound even close to decent. The songs are simple, but playing like Johnny is not.

All you need to do is keep trying. Learn to play lots of different types of music, not just what you like to listen to. I never used that Rock Smith game, but I've tried that app called yousician. It's kind of fun, but I didn't really see it teaching me how to play guitar as much as it was teaching me how to play a guitar video game. Like as soon as I turned it off, I wouldn't remember anything I just played and it gave me nothing to use to create my own stuff.

The YouTube guys like Marty Music, Justin Guitar and Andy Guitar all have tons of easy beginner videos and that's where I've learned the most from. I'd say try to learn the open chords, the minor and major pentatonic scales and power chords and you'll have enough skills to keep you busy for a while.

If you are going to school at the time, I seriously suggest just exploring a topic through the school database. Find something you are interested in and learn something new. Those databases like ebscohost rule.

tinder, film phone footy of your friends, write a story, start a journal, learn photoshop, see what your ex is up to, clean your coffee machine, craigslist a single-speed, call your mom

on music, a low end Squier fender can run you like $150, a yamaha copy even cheaper, match it with a practice amp, and learn tabs whenever the theory stuff gets boring. that's how i got into bass. jamming with a drummer is like bombing a hill or something - amazing

I would say get a hold of a good supply of mushrooms or acid, that seems like it would be better than tons of masturbation.

Do your personal joint mixture with what you'd consider ok for yourself.
End up putting just half of that in the actual joint.
That helps you take advantage of your 'artistic' side instead of spending hours like that stanley meme. Put some good tunes on and draw what's on your mind, learn basic stuff in other languages, watch movies in their original language (with subs) if you're not native english speaker. Also if you live in a college town use dating apps even with ugly girls just to hang out and learn stuff from their country.
Make a list of stuff you want to do and cross them off, then think of more and cross them off too, it feels good.
What I said is better if done in a park on a sunny day. Just try and avoid compulsive masturbation (expecially in a public park)/too much alcohol weed etc. because it feels good for a couple hours then you feel miserable. Nothing will make you feel as alive as skating (making love maybe?) but it's just a temporary state and you'll be back rolling soon.
