MLB 2017
« on: March 29, 2017, 06:35:03 PM »
First pitch is April 2nd at 1:10PM in Tampa vs NYY. This season should be a banger and as a Braves fan I'm excited about the new stadium, Dansby, Colon. It might eclipse last year's nightmare and turn out to actually be worth watching. I've been throwing long toss forever it's like my 4th favorite thing to do.

You guys and gals have any predictions? Can the Cubs repeat?

Let's do this Tracer!

Excited about the Giants having an actual, honest-to-god closer.  If he was with the team last year, they were damn near a 100-win team and in the WS.

This year they 'should' be great, although I'm not thrilled about them not having a legit starter in left field.  Matt Cain is always iffy... who knows, but let's get it started!!!!

SF could have offensive problems but that didn't stop them in years past. No denying their defense and pitching staff.

Go O's!!
Hopefully Gausman, Bundy and ,with Britton closing, can improve on last year backing up our Bats. Wait, it's the Os. Hopefully Trumbo and the boys remeber to bring thier bats back again, doubt it.
If Reds, Braves or O's win 100, it'll be a miracle. Atlanta bringing in some experience might help a lot this year.
Cinci, hope Mesoraco gets healthy asap for ya
SF could win it all and I'd be almost as happy as if the O's won

And we're off! Kerfax makes more than the entire SD 25 man roster, and buried them again this afternoon. Gotta love LA's chances this year, they put up 14 vs SD's best. There is no reason for San Diego to even play the season...

Giants opener against AZ was basically the synopsis of the entire last season...

Madison Bumgarner provides all the offense and pitches a gem (perfect through 6th), only to have the bullpen blow it in the 8th and once again in the 9th.  Yeah I know it's only the first game of the year, no need to panic... but UGGGGGHHH after having the shit bullpen blow 30ish games last year, it's pretty disheartening to see it happen right away.

McCann's first homer as an Astro and McCullers is on the mound tonight. I want to see this kid stay healthy and become our ace.

Lots of interesting stuff so far. Aaron Judge, Altuve, the Dodgers, the SF collapse, and KC is suddenly back in it. LAD just got Yu Darvish and are the favorites to win the WS atm.

Watched some of the White Sox game yesterday and never saw a worse collision in the outfield, full speed knee straight to the head resulting in 2 injuries.

oh shit is the season still going?  I had no idea...

The Giants have been the worst team in baseball since the all-star break of LAST SEASON.  I was hoping for a fire sale of epic proportions, but outside of Posey and Bumgarner who the fuck do they have that anybody would want???  It's gonna be a rough next few years that's for sure.

So glad we re-signed Pablo though, that's exactly what I was thinking when I was hoping for a rebuild.

Dodgers are the odds on favorite to win the WS (and won't make it past the 2nd round of the playoffs).  The Yankees are my sleeper pic, or maybe Chicago Cubs get hot right at the end.

Crazy that Pablo is a minor leaguer now, probably the worst signing in Red Sox history. SF fans got 3 WS wins in 7 years, Philly is way worse off and they sold their entire future for 1....

I got DBacks vs Indians, although I wouldn't be surprised if the Cubs get hot, and I wouldn't be surprised if the Astros got hot... so my runners up are Cubs vs Astros.  Should be an entertaining WS because outside of the Dodgers there is no clear #1 team like last year.

Damn must've been a slow year for everybody's teams, this thread never even got to page 2.

I love your commitment to hating the Dodgers. This year was a trash fire. I'm glad Pablo is back, and I'm sad Cain is retiring.

That Cubs game stressed me out way too much. Glad we pulled it off, but only a day of rest and we basically used every pitcher we could the last two days... Will be rough against the Dodgers. I hope Kershaw continues his streak of losing in the postseason.

damn my prediction didn't even make it past the first round.

I'm going with my second rounders... Houston vs. Cubs.  I don't see how anybody could stop Houston at this point.

I am now the biggest Cubs fan the world has ever seen.

I would say the Doggers have it for sure but they sure have perfected the art of choking the past few years.  So who fucking knows, I just know I would love to see them do work in the World Series.
