They changed their 149 sizing for the promotion of the new truck haha. 149 is very nice on 8.25 it's a shame that people will be left confused again when they see the tag of the old 149's saying 8.2-8.4 and seeing the new 148's next to it saying 8.12-8.38.

I go anywhere from 8.25 to 8.5 and the 149s are perfect, especially the new design they just did.

fuck man. I already emptied my balls of semen countless times jacking off to the indy 144s. I don't think my poor penis can take anymore. it's chafed as hell as we speak.

149's are definitely NOT as nice as 147's on 8.25 decks. I downsized to 147's and have progressed immensely since switching. Never rely on the suggested sizing, just refer to the exact axle length and if you're not regular you'll figure out what's best for you. Also, basically all 8.25 decks taper down near the mounting points so 147's are a better fit than 149's. But personally, I'm fucking hyped for the 148's and have been waiting for this for a long time since I only ride 8.25 decks.
Sorry to hear that 149's didn't work out for you. Since switching from 147 Thunders to 149 Indy's on 8.25, I became immensely better and became exposed to a whole new world of stability. 149's for me :-)

I will admit that it's all subjective to the type of skating you want to do, with 149's my transition game was on point due to the width and height versus the 147's. But everything else in terms of flipping, spinning, and even ledges just feel way easier skating a narrower truck. I want to skate to the best of my abilities, and the way I look at it a bigger board is just holding me back, sure it may be easier to get into a grind, but I'd rather train myself to aim in the right spot and still be able to throw a flip in/out of a trick rather than just be able to lock my trucks in because they're so wide that you don't even have to try.

Kind of seems like good timing to take the wind out of the 144's release.

Ace 44's are still 8.25". The 3/8 is referring to the size of the axle nut, not the length of the axle itself

from personal experience of riding mainly 90% of the time 8.25 decks, and actually plugging some thunder 149er on a deluxe 8.25 the thunder 149er hotdog just a bit on an 8.25 but not noticeably, like you can tell that theyre kinda wide for an 8.25 but that just means maximum stability with thunder performance and control. i feel 147 do better on an 8.25 if you want more control, and quick repsonse. but if your more about stability and turning the 149 are best

They didn't advertise as 8.25 because they aren't 8.25. They're 8.38.

someone on here the other day was saying they even liked 149s on a 8.125 and that you could definitely get away with that. I don't know what to believe anymore ... (and secretly wish that I'd never opened this thread)

Yep, been skating 8.25's the last few years and regarding board/truck sizing I found the absolute perfect spot with thunders 149. (I am sure if one divided 149 with 8.25 it would give the golden ratio https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_ratio  :)). I used these trucks on a girl 8.125 and what put me most off most was the decreased board width and not the trucks being too big for that deck.

haha always welcome, i feel as long as you cant see it sticking out standing on top and looking down then your fine. you cant see the little bit of extra unless you actually take your finger and try to level it to the deck rail, but who does that besides me hahaha

Any idea how wide the hanger is on these 148s? Took a tape measure the other day and noticed that on 147s with Conical Fulls my wheels are only 7.75" wide. Not the worst on an 8.125 but not really ideal. I want to max out my hanger and have the wheels line up or almost line up with the edge of the deck but I can't imagine the 148 hanger being much wider than the 147.

FINALLY@@@
Although, maybe I should just wait for a team hollow version?

I'll nab team hollows for the plates and some ti later on for the hangers.
