Impossibles
« on: May 24, 2017, 09:40:19 AM »
Me and my friend were having an argument about this, and what better way to settle it than to see what the most knowledgeable, in-touch internet skate community thinks.
Here are 2 impossibles.

A full foot wrap from Dylan:

and a 360 shove toe wrap style one from Ty Peterson:

So, what do you guys think? Do the 3shuv ones get a pass? Is a 3shuv one even equally as good as a full wrap?? The world wants to know

full wrap is definitely superior since it looks way more "impossible" i guess

The shove it looking one is still an impossible, its just not as cool of one. Its got a kind of wrap, its just more of a horizontal wrap than vertical one. Obviously the more vertical the better though.

It's kind of like when you don't fully pop a trick.

Yeah you did the trick, but cmon.

Full wrap for it to be a real impossible. I'm in the long process of learning this trick and if I don't see my graphic when I wrap my board, then I don't see it as improvement. It's hard to wrap it every single time, but them's the breaks.

It's kind of like when you don't fully pop a trick.

Yeah you did the trick, but cmon.
That's a good way of putting it. Also similar when you do a rock n' roll and don't deck it. That's just my opinion though, and we all take shortcuts with tricks sometimes.

Gotta see a full wrap. If back leg/foot is not touching the board, its a 3 shove.

Fuck I wish I could have them as consistent as Dylan though.

I always thought the full wrap one was an impossible and the 3-shuv one was just a 3-shuv.  I've seen BATB games where one person would wrap and then the other person would shuv and get away with it, but if I were the ref I'm not sure if I would make him re-do it or not.  It's almost like when someone does a hardflip that goes straight up between their legs and you can't really tell if it really flipped or not and all along it was just a weirdly popped shuv-it or something.

Dylan's impossibles are a thing of beauty and Fred Gall wins.

the second gif is a 360 pop shuv. If it don't wrap it is not an impossible.

Cromer's got a couple of different ones. 3:32 and 3:52. He's had nicer, Dylan-like ones, but I can't remember the videos.
