The difference between an impossible and a 3 shove are if it wraps. The difference between a good impossible and an okay/bad impossible is how good the wrap is. If it wraps, even a little bit on their toes, it's an impossible it's just a pretty shitty one. It's like a Greco kickflip vs a Reynolds kickflip. They're both kickflips but one sucks (in fairness to Jim mine looked like his for a long, long, long time).

Yowza, where did that come from?  I totally understand the reality that most pro's credited with "inventing" tricks probably didn't, but impossible is so weird I'd never doubt the Mutt made that up.

Far as I can see they're totally different tricks, done differently. 360 shuv is done like a pop shove it, obviously. You don't pop an impossible, just take off the front foot and scoop it around. I'd say that even 360 shuvs where the foot sort of stays on the grip don't count as impossibles. Dylan and Ed do them properly. Especially with Ed it's easy to see the difference.

If you do them like the second one, we all know you aren't proud of yourself. Nobody is rushing in here like "HEY I DO THEM LIKE 360 SHUVITS THAT ARE SCOOPED HARD AND I LOVE IT"

As for me... I can't do legit impossibles, I can do hella scooped 360 shuvits that could be maybe played off as impossibles for some children, but I don't do them.

The second one could go either way. Spinning it more horizontally does not preclude it from being an impossible. It just looks like his back foot loses contact on the last few frames. And I don't see the scoop action. Vert impossibles have more leeway since they mostly fling it out and catch it anyway.

It's two different tricks.

Quit debating this

Watch Ed, Rodney, Dylan, fuck even walker Ryan.

If it doesn't look like that it's a 360 shove it

Anyone arguing this can't do both, or you'd know just how different they are

Got it. You've never even tried an impossible.
When you scoop an impossible, if you point your toe, rather than wrapping around your foot vertically, it wraps around your pointed toe, giving it a horizontal spin around the foot rather than the vertical one.  You can see the difference between an intended 360 shove it and what I'll call a "controversial impossible" by which foot is the axis of the spin. If the front foot stays over it, they meant to 360 shove it. If the back foot stays over/attached when it spins, the person doing it will claim impossible- though apparently many people here will say its not.

It is like claiming a smith grind without touching the ledge/coping with your board, doesn't count. Try again.

If it doesn't look like this, it's not an impossible.

Dylan's however were so good that they are another trick entirely, within the impossible family but meant only for saints and gods to accomplish.

Full wrap for it to be a real impossible. I'm in the long process of learning this trick and if I don't see my graphic when I wrap my board, then I don't see it as improvement. It's hard to wrap it every single time, but them's the breaks.

That's a good way of putting it. Also similar when you do a rock n' roll and don't deck it. That's just my opinion though, and we all take shortcuts with tricks sometimes.

I have tried them quite a bit, actually, though with less success than I would have wished for. Anyways, I think that the kind of impossible that Ed or Greco or Rodney in the gif above does is the real deal. Granted, getting it to wrap vertically is rather difficult, so there's various gradations of sloppiness.
