no i didn't enjoy them. they're beyond cliche.
I never said that I was creative or anything, I was just displaying my attempt at the perception we call "Art", it's good to hear some feedback though, I'm sure your "Art" is ground breaking and really creative...I hope it's not as bland and pathetic as your internet persona...but you could always suprise and prove me wrong.

vhs: ignore the naysayers. the best thing you will ever do, the best idea you ever come up, may have either been and gone long ago, or may be many years ahead of you. a person with true passion will spend their life chasing it. and chances are, if we do somehow find it, nobody will even see it anyway. all you can do is persevere

you hoped we(slap posters) enjoyed your photo's. i didn't enjoy them and i told you why. you're comparing my art to your art, which is just as good as saying, "you're not as good as sheckler so don't hate on him"

you're a horrible peice, and your punishment is yourself.

Nice.  I've been going back and forth between moving into MF and moving into digital.  It's looking like digital because of cost issues, but I would really like to have the resources to do some real (read:non holga) MF stuff.

I have the same camera. I might scan some of my pictures later or I might be too lazy.

if you live in a city that has a good lab, MF is probably a lot better deal...  unless you want to do skate phtography.  you can get a good used camera with a few razor sharp lenses for incredibly cheap prices these days, and dozens and dozens of rolls of film and processing, all for half the price of a full-frame DSLR.

This is why I love graffitti. It can't be systematically raped and commercialized the way skateboarding has been over the last few years. People try (Marc Ekco?) but the plain fact of the matter is that its an outlaw activity that can never be mainstreamed.

Skateboarding used to be this way, now its just a joke.

But this guy

is pretty sick.

there are people would disagree, but i'm of the mindset that once a writer/their work becomes legal/commercial/mainstream/etc it's stops being graffiti and becomes...art? graphic design?...i dunno, but it's no longer graffiti. there are people who will acknowledge this (twist, reas and others), but there are some who continue to try and milk whatever street cred they may have (but most of the time never) had.

side note - marc ecko was never a writer. he's fucking terrible.

I'm not a writer at all other than some dabblings here and there, but my brother is pretty dedicated, and actually pretty talented. He's of the same mindset wherein once someone starts getting paid, they're not legitimate anymore. I've been trying to get some of his work on decks for a while now, and he just refuses to do it. Eckos a dumbass, but what about people like Banksy, Kaws, and even Shep Farey (to an extent) who started off as street and the art world came to them, rather than the other way around. Do you forgo sucess in favor of keeping it real?
I'm just down with the fact that nobody can ever really commercialize graf. I'd be stoked on a Rusto sponsorship though.
