One of the best dudes in skateboarding right now. Such a great skater and person.

I know its always been prevalent in most of the Epicly later'd once it expanded to more than a hang-out session, and is an issue in the skating community but it feels almost every episode outside of Spike has focused on substance abuse issues. I hope we get a pure skate rat documentary at some point such as the online series on Cardiel, Koston, Carroll, Arto, Ed, and Kalis.

Still great work. Who else is left to do? All I can think of is Dill and Harmony Korine.

Goddamn Andrew is such a good person. That episode made me feel so much better about humanity.
Like Daewon said: if skateboarding is a ten story building, Rodney is on eleventh floor.

I paused just now when Phelps on saying Andrews not the sharpest. Fuck Phelps dudes a Neanderthal. Reynolds got the only board  company of the old dudes who is still respected while also not failing, cough crailtap.

Ima go back to this now but I needed my Phelps hate to be heard.

Thanks for link. Cheers!

Atiba talking like he's some sort of tastemaker is really annoying. Besides him and Phelps the episode and whole season so far has been really good.
I loved watching Andrew get stoked on the new baker graphics.

Loved it. I hate that I've read and seen just about every Reynolds interview or life story out there so I knew everything that was coming before he said it. Regardless Reynolds is by far one of the most well respected pros of our time and can never get tired of him.

The Phelps comment completely didn't fit and could have easily been cut, it was the only thing I didn't like. Also i agree with a few posters on here that theres only so much Atiba commentary thats needed and he really doesn't need to be a regular on the show.

Stoked for anything Reynolds. This was fun.

It would have been interesting to understand more about the Single Dad situation. Maybe there wasn't a way to add more detail without embarrassing his daughter. Like most things, it's probably none of my business. But this is proof positive that the subject controls the output in skate media.

Does anyone else feel that this new EL format is kinda watered down? Not in the sense that they are censoring the harsher stories but that they are trying fit it all into an hour timeslot and therefore leaving out major points.

Yea I feel the same way. It's really vanilla, watered down. So much more could have been said.  Because it's more fresh in my mind, but the Muska one, I feel like it just abruptly ended. The hour isn't enough.

Agreed, I was interested in hearing a little more about his first Emerica part and Baker 3, a few more specifics about getting sober and his filming process beyond just skating more, how he approached fatherhood during that time, maybe more party stories re: Gershon, J Strickland, and Knox (though I can see why he wouldn't want to broach that subject), etc. Seems like the episode sort of glossed over the early aughts beyond "he partied, then he stopped" and jumped straight to Stay Gold.

Thought this was great, though. Reynolds is virtually unhateable. It's refreshing to see someone grow old and get more and more psyched and involved with skating, which is the impression he gives off.

I was kind of surprised to see him do that frontside bigspin off the loading dock in the beginning. I don't think I've seen him do that trick before.

He really is a role model in the best possible sense.

Agree though that the episodes should be longer, I could easily watch two or three hours on each of the skaters they had on this season.

Great episode. Not a lot I didn't already know, but it reaffirms that Reynolds is the public ambassador to skateboarding.

I do kinda wish they would release some extended cuts of these episodes for the more nitty-gritty skate nerd shit. I understand that the format for TV has to lend itself to a broader audience, and it does that pretty well. I've been DVRing these at my parents' house and it's actually been pretty neat to watch together, because their window into skateboarding is basically what they've seen in supporting me as a kid and stuff like Grind or the X Games.

His daughter is pretty classic. Busted out laughing when he was talking about how stella has girl skate heroes and he says "way better than muska and penny" and it cuts to that photo

That was fucking amazing.  Him and Stella have an awesome relationship. And him hanging out with Kader and his daughter and them being in the same crew is the best shit ever.  This is why skateboarding is the best!  I can only hope my son will like skating when hes a little older and can wipe his own ass.
