Drink for every person in this thread who claims to hate Dill, but will actively watch this episode when the time comes.
Drink for every attempt Dill lovers think they caught you being hypocritical, but haven't. There are a ton of documentaries about shitty humans that are enjoyable

Turn it off when he makes his triumphant recovery from drugs and comeback we fucking get it Patrick

Sucks that that story is universal across all these pros biography, but Patrick has to dig into that at least a little.  It's a huge part of peoples lives, getting sober.  A lot of people can relate and its redundant but its still interesting.  Don't be a jerk.  You must be where the fishing's good(upriver).

Totally missed that in the Heath episode.  Spike's also.

I'll take the under on this one. It'll be the most humble Dill interview ever. He's going to talk about his 20 year bromance with AVE then hit us with the Dylan retrospective.

Obviously I didn't mean it literally in every episode this season.  I'd say its a topic in about half of the skaters who have had an epicly later'd.  Which is a lot.  I guess I should of said many of these.  You asshole.  So I guess thats what you bring to the conversation huh?  Great input.  Your really witty for calling that out.  Props

I'm way embarrassed to admit even to myself that I used to be attracted to Dill (this is AFTER the Osbourne hair phase).

Then he entered his John Waters phase and I don't think there's enough Viagra in the world...

Dill was a lot cooler when he was on drugs and barely skated. Jim Greco too.

Fair point, though I generally don't spend my precious free time indulging in projects revolving around people I actively dislike. That's just me, though.

Dill lover? Sure. He's definitely earned his place in skateboarding history and always has something interesting to say. What more could you want in this day and age?

He's a great character for skateboarding. a la Grosso. Can't get behind everything he says but you can't take your eyes off of him.

Overrated skater. But in the sense of super good skaters that shouldn't have an elite type status. Like Stevie Williams, Grosso, Muska etc.

It's been touched on before but I'd love to hear more about the process for filming for Mosaic. That "Ghetto Park" spot has to have some stories about it.

Pulling that off was quite a feat if the stories about him just doing drugs all the time and only skating in binge-mode are true. There is an awesome Meza Skateboarder interview around the time where Aaron asks "how do you, of all people, have a part in the new Habitat/Workshop video?" which is just hilarious.

He did a bunch of meth and made up for his lack of footage by including poorly thought out "lines" that included him stopping, picking his board up, and turning around for no good reason other than taking up time in his part. He basically turned his part into a Nyjah Huston contest run and made it so people focused on that rather than his skating, which, at best, had plateaued as he offered nothing new skill or trick wise. It was the ultimate gimmicky bullshit part

i'm actually surprised at how he is held in such high regard in the skate world. he's an awesome skater, but whenever i hear people talk about him they always mention his fashion sense or quirky personality. hes kinda weird but i never really found him that interesting and he never really struck me as a trendsetter. dill always seemed pretty normal to me besides looking like a bum on mtv.

but epicly odull'd is pretty much always a fun watch. hope they shed some light on recent shit like the beginning/currently how FA is running. that would be cool.

So style doesn't matter and only technical advances are relevant?

Off the top of my head he had some great looking stuff in there - backsmith the curved rail, huge backside nollie heel over table, frontboard truckbash, fakie heel- fakie f/s shuv, etc... The Parallel lines weren't exactly elementary either.

I get your basic point but comparing it to a Nyjah contest run is just ludicrous.

Style matters, his style just isn't anything special. Its not terrible, but its not enough to justify that part. The guy isn't Kenny Reed or Mike Carroll. And no, none of those lines were anything special at all, aside from the obnoxious pretentiousness of his getting off the board and still calling it a line.

And you are right my comparison to a Nyjah contest run isn't fair. Nyjah actually puts a TON of effort into his skating and progression, rather than putting most of his effort into looking cool while rehashing the same shit for decades.
