Word on the street is that Converse "paid" for Louie to win or some bullshit. It's clear the only person who should possibly win in 2017 is Tiago and the runner up would be Jamie Foy. Those 2 made the biggest impact on skateboarding this year.

If Louie wins it'll be obvious that SOTY is a complete sham and honestly there should be a Thrasher boycott, I mean canceling subscriptions and not visiting their site anymore. What's funny is this forum is owned by Thrasher right? I'm curious what others thoughts are on this?

While I agree that Tiago should win I think that Louie has a legitimate shot at getting it this year based on the skating he did. Of course it's a possibility that there is collusion between Thrasher and other companies when soty is picked as there has been evidence of that happening in the past but if I were Converse I wouldn't be paying Thrasher for Louie to win, I would be pressuring Louie to put out another part in Converse's name before voting starts.

Also, Slap is owned by High Speed Productions, which also owns and produces Thrasher, as well as Juxtapoz.

Legitimate based on what? A contest win and a boring video part? I like Louie as much as the next guy and if he deserved it then by all means, unless he is sitting on a rack of insane footage to put out a part I don't see that happening. Tiago could also potentially put out another short part before the end of the year and it would no doubt be amazing. If Louie wins it'll be very suspicious especially since the "fix"seems to be widely known.
