Vans: Authentic Pros vs Era Pros?
« on: October 18, 2017, 02:44:41 AM »
So I have had many pairs of Era's and they are one of my favorite shoes of all time.

I've never looked at Authentics because of the lack of padding on the collar but I have the chance to get a pair of Authentic Pros for a really good price.

Does anyone have any experience with Authentics? How do they compare to Eras for comfort, skating, shape etc...

Some pictures make them look almost identical and some make the Eras look like they have a longer, pointier toe.

They are basically the same shoe. the Era has the collar padding and the authentic doesn't. For me the Authentic feels more snug which I prefer. I'd say go for it.

Authentics have essentially no support. I have a few pairs and they are fine for wearing and cruising around but I guess it depends on what you're used to. I prefer a little more support.

True.  I wear a 12 in Lakai, 12 in es, 12 in Nike, and wear a 12 in Authentic Pros.
All you got is today, get out and skate.

Just to confuse things, I go 1/2 down for vans from most brands, and most people I know do, too.

Thanks shark. I think I'll just risk it for the biscuit and go half of a size down. Heard enough people reccomend to go a 1/2 down form your normal size  with the pro vans so their must be something to it.

I had a pair of authentic pros, and they were fine, but the collar didn't cut in to hug your heel, so they kept slipping off.

I ended up going to a shop and getting slip on pros. Found them to be TTS.
