JAWS Saturdays Part
« on: October 18, 2017, 11:24:16 AM »

Pretty much everything you would expect from him. Same ideas at some new spots and a couple of pretty bonkers ones at that.  Can't say I am a fan of the double grab though. Remember when skate videos had music that wasn't absolutely awful?

I usually enjoy Jaws parts, they're always entertaining and this one was no exception.

Also, have they started to consciously cultivate a jock image for Birdhouse in reaction to Clint's post-KOTR notoriety, or were they like this before? I honestly can't recall.

the first minute and 20 seconds of that is skippable.

I think jaws tranny skill is criminally under stated. dude is flying and spinning all over the place. It's easy to discredit a dude whose consistantly does the gnarliest gaps, when all he does them all the damn time.

that only with the purple rails!!! that shit was crazy, that could some one else ender. I also like anyone who skates hard with a stupid grin on their face.

Best Jaws part ever just because the Andy Samberg routine. Anyway he had some cool moves like the blunt with the big drop. And that music fit somehow. I like Jaws, hes keeping it real in his own way.

This was the first Saturday part I watched and I like it. Lizzie Armanto part is up ? Any other Brooklyn NineNine cameo ?

the intros are pretty cringe-worthy. Jaws' tranny skills are undeniable, it's crazy that everyone(obvious exaggeration) can do 540s now.

they've been fucking up these improv/alt comedy cameos.  This and the Eric Andre ones were pretty bad (no idea if anyone showed up for David Lochte's).  you would think someone might connect Hot Rod to Jaw's stunt-level skating and maybe do something with that.

feel bad for the filming on his ender wasn't cleaner.  bit of bad luck, bit of bad angle

Crazy how Heath had a sketch with pornstars and The End was fun as hell overall. Probably the biggest show on a VCR at the time.

So...no Lizzie part yet.

Jason's and that other guy's awful uninspired editing/filming really fucked this video. Skating was epic, but the video is pretty forgettable. That seems to be the problem with a lot of big budget videos these days, filmers want to show of their ''skills'' and completely over do everything. How fucking hard is it to make a clean enjoyable edit and let the skating do the talking? They manage to do it right in pretty much all the no-budget homie videos

i find all the quirks of the end endearing.  the fact that they didn't use skate filmers to shoot a lot of it, so you get those weirdly high angled lines and that all the skate sounds were ADRed during editing.   and nothing says you've made it like a gold nintendo 64

Second set of LoF looks taller.  This is longer for sure.

I’m surprised there hasn’t been a Jaws height of drop infographic before.   Gotta think at least that Lyon 25 is at least comparable height wise.

Also weird he didn’t use that footy.  Start your part with Nude El Toro and end it with underpadding

Gnarred.

How subtly that move would have upended national stereotypes too.

That whoop de doo roof launch to bank was insane, especially considering he probably didn't have eyes on the landing until after he ollied.

Hated the intro and editing but there was a bunch of good stuff in there.

Yeah, hopefully he does so we can take bets on how many kickflip melons he will have in his part.

Or better yet, just make the entire part kickflip melons.  3 in a half minutes of melon madness!

Line-up and cameos for the White Trash Foundation video

1st part Jaws - Andy Sandberg and Akiva Shaffer. (This was kicked off the video?!)

2nd Ben Raybourne.  Trailer Park Boys pass a joint to Raybourne thinking he’s Bubbles.    Decent, but Baker just did something w/ them. 2nd straight part with rider nudity

3.  David Loy - Johnny Knoxville doing a jackass style thing with Tony Hawk driving a pt cruiser into a portapotty this dope is standing on top of.  He jumps off just before and lands on his board.  His final trick should have been used in an opening montage.

4.  Jock montage of everyone getting everyone pumped up to do better tricks at the same spot David Loy’s last trick was at.  Seems like everyone did bigger versions of these tricks in their parts.

5. Shawn Hale - Eric Andre

6.  Flow montage.  One guy is named Jake the Jeweller.  Another is just named Dirty.

7.  Lizzie.  No comedian, just a ukulele player strums while Tony Hawk and Lizzie approach her.  Ukulele player points out they are on camera.  And some confusing music plays as she skated transition with others in the team cameoing.  Good stuff, but short. That song goes from ukulele, to edm, to “I like big butts” samples.  (I guess it was Amanda Palmer)

8.   Clint crashes into Joe Dirt’s mop bucket.  Is nice and apologetic to him.  I guess Joe Dirt not homeless enough to swing on.  David Spade adlibs that the high five hurts his hand.  Skates to Modest Mouse (obviously).  Skates a spot I haven’t seen since the PRod In Bloom days

9.  Tony Hawk - Bobby Cannavale (reading the Fountainhead) and Jason Sudekis are sitting in an apt in Brooklyn.  A knock at the door.  Tony Hawk walks in and shows them a disc. They put in a PlayStation thinking it’s his new game and think that his part is just a super realistic video game and that they are controlling Tony skate.
“Did you know the ollie is named after Mohammed Ali” is solid joke.  Another weird song.  RZA and Imagine Dragons??   Some sick tricks in there.

10.  Clive Dixon.  In the most dumbfounding thing in the video, Patti Smith looks in a mirror and says “no words, just action.  Clive Dixon.  Clive dixon”.   Won’t spoil last trick, but it was one of those tricks that Rowley was rumored to have done in the crazy days before Sorry was released.

These people must have all been on Tony’s radio show and did him a favor.

6/10.  No need to watch again

I liked it except the skit. I think his style is getting smoother, in his other video parts there was always lots of clips of him landing some ridiculous drop almost at a standstill.

The naked el toro illustrates more clearly the fucked up angles his knees collapse into. Looks uncomfortable, but obviously works for him.

Music worked for me somehow, even though it's not something I'd listen to on purpose

The blew it by not getting all of the purple rail spot in the one frame. That definetly needed another angle that shows the size better.
