I think Thrasher puts up voting and speculations at the end of this month/early December. The Shep Dawgs vid is dropping along with whatever surprises others have in store, No Other Way came out just before voting and there wasn't much else people were going to choose. My first pick is Tiago, but if I had to choose between Foy and Louie, I've got Louie.  He has better style and can finesse a line together.  Politically, Louie seems to be in better camps than Tiago.  He's got the DLX connect with Spitfire.  I'm not sure if that means shit of course. 

Complete aside, but I'm hoping after seemingly taking a year off coverage-wise, Jake Johnson can make a case in 2018.  Quasi project and maybe he'll get a converse colorway like his boy Al Davis.  I can also imagine GX1000 has something up their sleeve.

I think Garshell has been helping Ben Chadourne out with the Cons video? So, not quite a GX production, but still an outlet for some Jake Johnson footage.

The closest I can think of is Kyle Walker turned pro then got SOTY the next year.

Was talking about this in another thread. I think Arto may have, I'm not sure if he got the bump right at or after Menikmati and he won in 2001. But, SOTY was way different back then, and not what it currently evolved into.

A few guys weren't pro for that long before they won it. I don't think Ishod, GT or TNT were pro for longer than 18 months before they won.

I see no potential in Foy having a historical significance, besides from being really, really good.
Louie and Tiago challenges the status quo on a whole other level and both would stand out, as having contributed to skateboarding and showing of directions.

I've even got Zion Wright as my potential third pick, as he has had the balls to show a personal approach to skateboarding, rather than just adding another half floor to an existing, exceeding the limits of the foundation with close to nothing + I can't stand watching Foy's Red Bull cap, that looks like it has been dragged across a dive bar floor at 4 am. It's a vile last remark, but I can't stand it honestly.
