Why does everyone on Birdhouse yell before they do a trick

Have you seen a bird? Birds are constantly yelling so it only makes sense.

Yelling, hugs, sunglasses while skating, bandanas, slightly embarrassing

Skating was nuts

I have to confess I kind of enjoy the jock thing they all got going, from a distance. They seem like a real team, although I wouldn't want to be part of it.

What a madman, that must have been some of the gnarliest handrail skating ever. I also quite like his style (sw fs flip alley-oop over the rail) and slams. wallie to back lip down the hubba was dope too.

they hype each other up to do some real stuntman shit. like Heath or Rowley shit. some compelling footage at the end there.

Noseblunt el Toro was one of the Rowley rumors for Flip.  Wonder if he even considered it

Wallride backlip was cool, I liked that. Clive reminds me of Billy from the new season of Stranger Things.

It's not my favourite flavour, but i think there's room in skating for jock shit. I like the way they don't try to downplay their hype. Also, half the shit in that clip could probably qualify as a near death experience, so I think a bit of hootin' and a-hollerin' is justified.

I dug this. Walkie up bs lip and fs hurricane shuv were both nice moves.

Towards the end I got strong Rowley vibes. Some of those rails were monsters. El Toro doesn't even look so big any more. So glad I'm not a pro skater expected to step to these spots.

I remember hearing that Fabrizio Santos got broke off pretty bad trying to noseblunt El Toro back in the day.

Sweet Jesus that was gnar.  I hate the jockish yelling but when your skating stuff that big, your endorphins must have you hyped at a peak level.  Like smoking crack or shooting dope (I would imagine lol)  I don't like him one bit but he gets my approval.  But who gives a fuck.

Edit:  I just read his interview and I take back what I said, He's not just some dumbfuck jock who screams before every trick.  I'm just an asshole.

I just think maybe he gets a bad image because he's bff with Clunt Walker.  And the Birdhouse team is just guilty by association.

Nose blunt el toro, fuck.
That lip slide was also huge.
Pop shove boardslide and front big spin lip were different.
I liked all those wall ride tricks on the mini hubba.

That “jock” hype for genuinely mindfuckingly difficult, gnarly shit definitely beats the angry, smug “I’m the shit, but I hate it cuz I’m hella city, and everything is awful and serious” intentionally pissy faced rollaways from lame, low impact bullshit every time. Clive killed it. That Jamie Thomas vibe is the next thing, I’m tellin u

i don't think he'll win it, but a lot of that stuff is definitely soty-worthy.

What in the actual fuck Clive... cheers to the new much louder Heath Kirchart.

I don't mind the yelling with skating like this. I imagine it's just a way to cope with the sheer insanity of what these guys are going for.

I don't even know what to say about those clips, so I'm just gonna leave my jaw hanging open.

That 22 stair or whatever at Santa Monica that he lipslid is insane. I guess they redid the ground since I was there last because that shit was unskateable. That rail is huge, never thought someone would actually do it... Screaming for himself and flipping off the sky can go however... I wonder if they watch their own footage after the adrenaline goes away and are embarrassed...

That's cool he likes Joseph Conrad. Didn't think he'd be the type to write a book, but I'm glad he did regardless of its quality.

The jock stuff doesn't bother me either way, with that being said Clive has always stood out a bit from the rest of the Birdhouse team. He's been quietly killing it for years and now he's finally getting the attention that he deserves. And as was already said, it's crazy to see how small El Toro is becoming.

Just for fun everyone pause that view from the top on that last lipslide(preferably when he's in mid-flight before hitting the rail). I'd be yelling like a madman too if I had to try that shit. No, truthfully I'd be hiding in the van with the doors locked wimpering like a little bitch...

Nuts.
Does not seem too much fun though. If this is his way of fun skating, then that's razors edge. Small mistake with any of those lipslides can make things go wrong in many ways.
