Shout out to Joe too for dropping that info about blood clots & ice. I lived my life always thinking ice was for coochies but that actually makes sense, to avoid death by blood clot, I will be investing in cold compress solutions.
Can you elaborate on this? I'm kinda OCD and almost got credit carded yesterday and now I think the scrape on my leg from the board is going to become a clot and end my life..
As there is no MD after my name, take this with a grain of salt, but i think from now on: when available/in doubt: ICE.
I'm pretty sure Ice helps keep blood thin & veins/arteries unswollen/obstructed (whatever) but if you were to incur an injury and then sit stagnant (such as joe did on his road tour) this would gradually impede healthy blood from circulating to an area of trauma and fixing the wound.
Also, that "tainted blood" (this term will for sure show my lack of knowledge) will coagulate and turn to a clot, then eventually (without the help of blood thinners/etc) travel to your heart and clock you out, figuratively speaking. RIP
