Why's the warmest day when it's snowing tho 😩

It's always a bit warmer when it snows.

One thing is for sure, it's too cold for my water pipes, they froze this morning, and now I have to go down to the cellar and warm those fuckers up.
It's single digits here in WI all week. I have a little bank ramp and quarter pipe in a shed, and also recently got a pellet burning stove. It's just enough room to move around in, I'd suggest it as otherwise I'd be going crazy.

Anything lower than 40, raised on SoCal so NorCal weather sucks and being too cold takes more time to warm up and I get unmotivated and just want to stay home

Also are we not pointing out that straight was mid call?

It's not really the actual temperature that bothers me, its the fucking wind.

slams are the worst in cold weather, also tend to crack my board way more.
me and friends will still bring rails and boxes to underground lots still.

I second this. uniqlo heattech is great for the cold. when I lived in NYC I skated in 2 degree weather as long as it was dry. wearing a hat, hoodie and jacket is essential for me when I skate in the cold. once you get warmed up, it’s not bad. I mostly just cruise around when it’s cold. also, before you head out, it’s good to do some pre-skate warming up indoors - dynamic stretches and what not.

Now that I'm in my 40's, 30*F or so will make me not even think about going skating. Usually ice and snow is a bigger deterrent than temp. In my 20's though it was very common to find a parking garage, sweep it out and session with friends until 1:00-2:00 in the morning regardless of temperature. You'd start off bundled up and and freezing. But after a while, you would get hot and it was down to t-shirts and pants. Steam billowing off of every inch of exposed skin. Have some great memories of those sessions because I think everyone that was there was focused because of the conditions we were dealing with. Anyway, to answer the op's question... 30*s turns me into a chump these days.

I guess a other question is
How smoky is too smoky?
With the current state of California up in a blaze. Where do you stop at air quality. Last two days was awful, today the visabilty is a bit better. Is it less healthy getting exercise?

I live in Brazil, so it never gets too cold to skate. Lowest in my city is 16ºC, which is still pretty skateable.

I live in Switzerland where it can get pretty cold between December and March.
I'm 36 and can't be bothered skating outside if it's 0 Celsius or colder anymore.
Luckily, there's an indoor park close to mine. It's not heated but we can usually skate there comfortably. Last winter, I couldn't skate one day as my bushings froze but otherwise it was fine.

Pic of the fantastic skatepark I grew up skating, about 16 or 17 years ago:

I've been out surfing in minus 12 celcius with 0 celcius water temp.  - More than a couple of times.  If the sets aren't too spaced apart it works but if you have to wait long for set waves it doesn't fly to good.  -im over the super cold shit now tho. fuck it.

Any temp below 55F (13C) and I’m over it. I’ve been wanting to move where I can skate all year round and the temp doesn’t get any lower than that, within The States. If anyone has any recommendations I’d appreciate it.
