Generator. Their shapes are the same as Passport boards.

some kids I know started a brand with boards through clutch with no business license or resellers permit. they just paid sales tax and got a batch at the wholesale price. so basically every asshole on the planet can start their own brand and buy a stack of their own pro models at wholesale and shut down the industy. great job.

The new wood is still made in China though, right?

Yeah its a new factory in China. I think at some point soon they're going to post a China tour edit where they visit the new factory. I think they are just been waiting for as much of the old inventory to go since any official announcement would essentially make all "old" product pretty much unmoveable. Feel free to take that joke in there.

DSM wood is made in China but their quality control is the best in the industry. No other companies are offering 30 and 90 day guarantees against breakage. If their new factory is close that level (I doubt it) I'd be more than happy to start purchasing Crail boards again.

Also the wood is still from canada. Chinese manufacturing does not always equate to poor quality

It's only a 'new' factory to them. Same place that presses lots of decks for brands looking to save money on production. They were doing 5Boro (maybe still are, haven't looked recently), Blood Wizard and loads of others when I worked for a major dist. The wood looked like it got a bit better at one point, so I tried a 5Boro deck - 2 actually. Both were garbage after 1 or 2 sessions. Sogged right out.

Crailtap has the money to produce Generator or PS stix, but why don't they? Or are they really in that bad of a financial state?

Story goes, they were going from North American manufacturer to manufacturer saying that they want X amount of boards but at insanely low cost for them. Manufacturers were basically going to loose money making crail boards. So in order to get the boards for the price the wanted, they went over seas.

Can anyone here shed any light on their experience with Pennswood? I picked up a Scumco yesterday and it felt super heavy. Like almost unskatable heavy. Bummed because I wanted to try one.

i realy like their wood. i wouldnt agree on being softer. they hold up really well and i find they dont razor out that easily. comparable to south central wood.

Was it ever confirmed that this indent meant that a board was PS?
Picked up a Passport and noticed that it had this but didn’t have the typical PS Stix serial number and crap.

Exactly what I was thinking but then I removed the sticker and boom the supposed PS stamp right there.

Evisen is DSM (for North America)

The New Crail wood is actually from the US, they buy it ship it overseas get it pressed then ship the decks back, must be insanely cheap if they are double shipping wood, last 2 decks have been Girl Decks, looking forward to trying out one of the new ones next.

I'm pretty sure DSM has been doing this forever with canadian maple.

I think a couple manufacturers do a front truck bolt dot, i asked schmitt himself a couple months ago if it was similar to the DLX concave indicator thing and he said it was just a quality control thing, ive had PS boards with single or multiple dots

Not sure numbers is PSS, no serial#, just the dot between the front truck holes where the center of the baseplate would be...it DID have some tacky lazer image on the top rear of the truck area tho.
