Why is Scumco using three different wood shops at the same time? Seems like the inconsistency would bug people.

who else are they using? i was kinda bummed about the shape being different. how are the boards from polar? is the concave somewhere in the middle? im looking for a deck that's like the silverspoon concave but has a pointy taper to the tail.

Only for the recent ones? Got a 2016/17 Logo Board and I assumed they are made by Pennswood, feels and looks the same as the Scumco pro board I got.

The control boards I've seen have a different side profile, more square.  I'm sure the molds vary but they tend to be medium or on steeper side but mellower concaves.

If it is what I am thinking of, the Quasi 8.5x32.12 (14.25wb), squarish nose and tail. Also a PS board.
[close]

right, very similar. but again i'm mainly bummed on the PS quality control issues.

anyone make this shape through BBS? i've heard hockey/FA are transitioning to BBS so i'm on the lookout. just curious if this shape exists in other BBS clients - maybe hookups/JK?
[close]

Hookups/JK are on the pointier side. WKND may have what you're looking for

WKND also PS Stix. This is the shape I ride, or it was, but it seems like Quasi changed it. Previously there had been two 8.5 shapes for Quasi, one was the 8.5 (front truck) x 32.125 x 14.25 that was kinda tapered (8.25 back truck), and the other was longer and not tapered. I had my shop order a couple of the shorter shape a couple of months ago and all were 8.5 that did not taper and a slightly different nose/tail. No me gusta. So far I've been able to get WKND with the exact shape that I'm used to, the 8.5 with the taper. I guess this doesn't help you at all except to tell you that if you go with WKND it will not alleviate your woodshop issue.

Someone in the Habitat X Alien Workshop thread said that Workshop recently left BBS/Generator. Anyone spotted these new Alien decks and see who's pressing them? Wouldn't be surprised if they went back to PS Stix, which is what Habitat is currently using and AWS used to use.

I just checked the tops of a bunch of alien and habitat boards at sw. Didn't see a single alien with a ps serial number. Some habitats were ps stix.

Had a Yaje deck from their most recent drop. Was still BBS. Hope they don't switch to PS, the Yaje (and I think one or two of the Guevara) decks had full-shape specs - 8.25x32.25x14.5 - but with normal shape nose and tails.

Can someone recommend me a deck from a company using bbs/generator. I like mellowish concave and really round nose and tail. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Yeah, I also got one from the latest drop and it is BBS. Pretty sure person in the other thread was confused and possibly referring to them leaving Tum Yeto a while back?

Either way, hope they stay because the 8.5x32.25 shape is amazing.

bump, the one i had (8.5 classic eagle) was mellow and the nose/tail were round, but it felt more like an 8.38 than 8.5. wasn't really a problem for me tho and was probably caused by the fact that it was short (31.8 with 14.25wb) as i've recently ridden on a friend's 8.625 ah classic eagle which i reckon is 32.25 in length and it felt true to size

the Blue Eagle 8.5 has the same length/WB dimensions as an Anti Hero Gerwer 8.06.

from what i can see some websites say that the gerwer is 31.97 with 14.38wb while some others say it's 31.8 with 14.25wb. all of them say that the blue eagle is 31.8 14.25wb. i don't know anymore though, it felt pretty short so i feel like it was 31.8 but i could be wrong as anything nearing 32 inches in length is fine by me

Weird question but why do some boards have the black generator sticker on the front bolts but others like deluxe (made by generator)  don’t have it? Or even polar some will have it and some won’t even though they are both generator. All isle decks have it. I swear if a deck has the generator sticker it feels like a marginally better deck crisp and light and a better shape. It might be in my head though.

I just assumed there are tons of different options at generator some better than others....I always insisted the opposite ie. Real boards were the best.....

I find that Real always uses the better technology or have different concaves while Krooked and 18 uses more standard stuff.

Got a Polar 8.5- what companies have a similar shape with the large nose, sorta pointy tail, moderate wheelbase?  I think it is 8.5x32x14.5.  It feels narrower than it is, manual balance is awesome, overall just a super fun deck to skate.

Magenta and Isle have similar shapes/specs. Also on Generator wood. Although Isle's may have more rounded tails now that I think about it.
