Grand Rapids has Clemente, which is a pretty sick DIY park.

North of Grand Rapids is mostly just forest, farmland, and small towns (some of which have skateparks and I'm sure a few spots). Really great for relaxing and getting away for awhile, but not the best for skating unfortunately. Your best bet will probably be to head into Grand Rapids and definitely check out the Clemente DIY as already mentioned. The local shop is called Premier and you might even find Kalis hanging out there.

kzoo is also decent and holland has a fun little park. Head east on 94 and hit Lansing then come to tecumseh and have a beer with old paraquat.
