Call Me 917 Boards
« on: February 15, 2018, 03:30:27 PM »
whattup Slap members, I was thinkin about buyin a 917 board but since you can only buy them online, unless you live in a city with a boutiques that sells them, I was wondering if anyone could tell me that the shape is like and if they are worth it. Normally I like goin to the shop and seein what the shape is like before I buy it but thats not really an option since I've never actually seen one IRL.

It's actually just Bianca stuff that's only sold in boutiques and high fashion stores. Lots of skate shops carry 917 boards. If no shop near you has them though, 35th Ave in Washington state has a good selection including Cyrus' pro board
www.35thave.com

From what I've heard they aren't bad boards. Anyone want to chime in on what woodshop Alwx goes through?

They are like any ps stix or generator board just with shitty graphics (design wise and quality wise) half the boards look like jpeg images.

I skated one of their 8.12s once and it was ok. Long wheelbase for the shape and had a really tapered tail.

BBS/Generator wood now. Big nose and tail, long wheelbases. Mellowish concave. Kinda like anti hero boards.

They're fantastic but BEWARE they're made by homeless indigenous Chinese children who work 27 hour days and only get sawdust to eat. If you can live with that on your conscience, they're great decks.

the boards are made by trained monkeys in the Dominican republic, they cut down 100+ trees a day and are forced to shape these boards for 1/2 a banana a day. Each shape is unique to their chimp designer.

They are a really good shape, I like em. If you like Anti Hero, you'll like these bad boys.

Was it this one but in red?

I skated it for about two hours and went and bought another deck. Horrible shape.

Yes, they have the warning sticker and no laser ps engraving.

he talks in his jenkem hangout how he didn't like those and was really into antihero shapes - hence, 917's are like antiheros

They are not like crail stuff, no worries... I don't think anyone can used to that shit... that's why a lot of those guys including Alex, BA & others were often seen riding anti hero.
