You’d think a 40 year old would know better than that griptape. Sick part though. For any age.
Now, we used to say we put on our tights to put on the world. So I don't think it tarnishes the image at all.

More enjoyable than 99% of parts being put out by the kids these days.

if you aren't from France (or maybe from a small town in France even ?) then you have no idea how authentic, passionate and also elusive this guy is. he's never once changed his skating (nor his griptape) style in 30 years. when most of the 'hip' pros here don't bother with the small towns, and just take trains to Paris or Bordeaux or have their sponsors pay for their skate tourism outside the country so they can get shiny clips and sell shoes, Jérôme has always explored the entirety of the country, never once snobbing certain scenes, always skating the shittiest local parks with a smile and doing incredible shit. he used to dress super weird back in a time when that wasn't acceptable, like 80's Gonz in the early 2000's when everybody was into nollie heelflip noseslides and switch crooked grinds in tall tees, and he could do those too, all the while wearing the same flower shirt he's still wearing in this part (how immaculate it still appears to be is impossible).

he has the strongest DIY ethics (the intro clip isn't a gimmick), lives on the road, never gave a shit about sponsors and besides a few interviews in 90's / early 2000's french mags, photos of him were always a rarity but whenever one would come out it was always super good, and of a trick you'd never seen before, with so much style. as a kid I'd get so stoked I'd study every detail about them, try and learn the tricks, I'd eat everything up in a way I had stopped doing with the rest for a while already.

the following part came out nine years ago and marked the first time proper, up-to-date footage of him ever really dropped under the form of a full part. he's one of France's best-kept secret, best skateboarders and doesn't give a shit, all the while everybody else is all over Instagram trying to market half the stuff he's been doing forever.

a recent documentary about him called "Flow: Skateboard Experience" (I know) just dropped online but for some reason all the official links to it are now set to private (?)

Always one of my favorite, could'nt agree more with what Silhouette said.
Genuinely nice guy, also really invested in the D.I.Y punk/hardcore scene with several bands, including CondKoï ("Stupid cop" in his regional slang)

That older footage is definitely giving me some Micha Hollinger/Jarod Sabba vibes...

This was rad. And for what it's worth, was the only thing I've watched more than once this week.
I listen to a lot of classical music and never really thought it would go with skating. But it worked for this. Chopin, right?
Thanks for the extra insight into this guy silhouette.
