I'm 29 about to hit 30 this spring. Nay skaters here in their 30s? So I begun skating at 15 cause I thought it looked fun and for the most part it was I ton a fun doing it and stopped when I was about 18. I was never really any good all I could do for an Ollie but it didn't matter to me cause I was having doing and to me that was all that mattered to me. I quit cause of the discouragement I got from the more experienced skater calling me a "poser" and shit but I never tried or act like anything that. Even though I'm approaching 30 I have different outlook on life and a more mature mindset I really want to get back into skating and I still think it looks fun when I see people riding or when I watch clips. Any tips on getting started?
step one: post about possibly skating on the internet then think about skating but dont actually go.
you're well on your way to getting back in the game.

-Call up all your friends and see how many never want to skate.
-Do a frontside grind. (Consider instagraming it.)
-Sit down, drink beer, talk about your frontside grind with the 'kind of' friends who actually took you up on the offer to skate. (its super important to talk about skate achievements after 30)
-Drink another beer.
-Talk about equipment.
-Another beer.
-Maybe some local skate gossip. (Grown men skateboarders love skate-gossip.)
-Call it a day.
-Get another session going in two months time.

I actually do take fish oils, multi-vitamins, CLA, and among others. I even take test boosters after I cycle off of pro hormones. It helps with those gainz in the gym lol

The 30s have been my favorite skate decade yet. Like everyone else is saying, just have fun and cruise around. If you can ollie up a curb, the whole city opens up.

It is very inspiring! I feel like if I can get back to the basics and learn to Ollie while riding then the sky is the limit

29 over here

Try to get as fit as you can, it really REALLY helps
Stretch before and after
Start from basics; transitions helps a lot to get moving
get some GOOD SHOES; Im currently using the New Balance numeric 868, best cupsole in the last years for old folks like us

and most of all; have fun

32 here- I take the same approach to skating I do weight lifting. No stretch to start - warm up skating around get your body moving, have a nice sesh, then a NICE stretch after. Your skating/body with thank you for it.

I've seen the new balances and they are nice! What about Nikes? I'm just familiar with that brand even at 29 I still play basketball with the youngbloods and jordans/nike are my go brand when it comes to that and I also use nike from working out in and ive worn them since I was a kid.

I will do that. Do you get sore or have cramps afterwards?

The soreness is almost inevitable, but gets better. Hydrate!

inb4 this turns into another Nike thread.

But politics aside, the general consensus seems to be that Blazers are amazing and the rest of their catalog is hit or miss. Since you're just hopping back into things, shoes aren't going to make a huge difference quite yet; but you should try to find something comfortable (for skating and maybe a little bit of walking) that also doesn't make your body feel like utter shit after a long sesh.

I saw your mom do a ollie to cooch drop straight down the big black pole, it was gnarly. she defiantly shut that shit down
