Kick
« on: March 02, 2018, 05:53:12 PM »
Hey guys, so I've recently discovered that I hate steep kicks after buying a primitive board..I had a stereo before this and it was pretty flat and I loved it...so I'm curious what some other mellow boards are...I want to buy a santa Cruz but I'm not sure what kind of kick they have...any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Santa cruz's are relatively mellow, skated 3 in a row and i loved em. Toys and foundations are the most mellow boards ive ever been on. I'd give em a shot

You should definitely go to your local and stand on a few. Easiest way to tell. The brands above plus dwindle boards are mellow.

The Alien board I'm riding atm is pretty steep, the Quasi board I had before was not.

How has everyone in this thread gotten this into skateboarding and still doesn’t realize that all brands make steep or mellow concaves. It isn’t brand specific in any tangible surefire way.

I wish more boards were made this way (with mellow kick tail)  Gonz's beamer boards have it.  It's like decks are not made with thought or care or like 'thought and care' are a bad thing -theres hardly any variance between decks  Completely the opposite of surfboards or guitars or something like that.  (edit -boards last me a year)

I thought this thread was going to be about some new video that Strobeck just put out on YouTube or something.
But I second whoever said baker.

Never been a fan of steep concave, Plenty of boards will give you a more mellow option. Some companies decks just don't hold their shape in my opinion. The best companies with mellow boards depending on the shape obviously are Polar, Send Help and Real/AntiHero. I skate 8.1-8.25
