i'd like to see him on alien
If it was still the old Alien fine, but the new version? nah. They have some sick riders like Joey Guevara and Brandon Nguyen, but they lost what they had when they rebooted the entire team. the entire team left
we're talking Alien here... not ES
It was a weird situation. Didn't Alien officially cease opperations, than rebooted a couple months later. It was probably fueled by the riders not down with what was going on and how in the dark they were kept. But, when Alien ceased operations, they still had Gilbert, Bledsoe, Jake Johnson, Omar, Donovan Piscopo and John Fitzgerald on but in the recent months lost a bunch of riders (Dylan, Grant, and before that Ave, Dill, and Terp, plus Sage off flow). Habitat managed to keep their entire team together and moved to Tum Yeto, they were shortly followed by the re-launch of Alien with an all AM team.
The guys on the Alien team seemed to get bummed cuz there was no communication between the company and them, but sometimes its a little suspect when the TM takes half the guys and starts a new brand. Carter and Hill were probably just at a lost as to how the whole thing when down and were probably dealing with Dyrdek about how to not have their legacy sold to a sporting goods company in a fire sale. Unlike Habitat the Alien guys all seemed to feel betrayed by the owners, not sure why, but theres a Jake johnson interview where he says that he was possibly gonna go back but just had issues with everything. I'm sure money was also a factor and Hill probably made it clear that he couldn't promise any level of real money to the guys. Carter also had a minor heart attack in this timeframe and i'm guessing that may have been a factor in the communication issue.
Isn't Carter no longer involved? I think he has a 10% stake, but just deals with Reflex, while Mike Hill has full control (and 90% of Alien).
I think the story is that Castrucci was pretty straight up with his guys about what happened, whereas Alien was already pretty fractured with multiple people leaving.
Either way, I hope Nawrocki finds a good place like Habitat or Quasi. Just not feeling the new Alien even if they have sick riders. It gives me similar vibes as re-launched Stereo and Plan B, but even those brands still had legends involved from the original inception of the brand.
