This is beyond fantastic. Love this band. I wish I could take the Australian music scene and place it here. Philadelphia has some solid acts for sure, but the Australian music scene is truly one of a kind.

Just got tickets to see Tropical Fuckstorm livescore the soundtrack to No Country for Old Men while it plays, stoked on that.

Prepping myself to see the godlike Scientists this weekend in SF, been listening to a lot of Aussie noise rock.

came across this today, Salamander Jim featuring Tex Perkins (from Beasts of Bourbon).  Like a bluesier, harsher Birthday Party

My dad recently became a huge fan of The Church after buying some CDs at a garage sale. He gave me Starfish and Priest = Aura, but I haven't played them yet.

I always liked that song you posted, mongoloid.

Damn! That’s a hell of a find for Pops! Those are two exceptional records, and truthfully nearly their entire body of work has been consistently great. Steve Kilbey’s solo works are very good too.

They have a duo of unplugged records of sorts that are fantastic too.

Fear is Like a Forest off of Kurt Vile & Courtney Barnett's "Lotta Sea Lice" is written by Jen, and it's sheer Neil Young-esque fucking balls out greatness. Best song on the record, and it's not even written by either participant. Jen is ofcourse Courtney's girlfriend, but still... fucking so good.

yeah i agree thats easily the best song on that record. jen performed it live with courtney when i saw her here earlier this year. its crazy how deep and emotional jens songs are compared to how hard she rocks live.

Saw The Scientists on Sunday on their very first US tour, it was amazing.  They're still doing a few dates in NYC if anybody who lives there gets a chance, see them.

First show I ever played was with the UV Race and Total Control. Really had no clue what their deal was until they played. Of course, I was blown the hell away.

These guys are from Australia. Really into it, especially the VILE influenced vocals.
