Borra bought 230,000 fake instagram followers so Hypebeast doesn't shitcan the entire company. Check it on Socialblade: https://socialblade.com/instagram/user/berrics Berrics usually get a few hundred followers a day then all the sudden they got +127,826 & +101,825 followers in back to back days... then lost -20,443 of the fake accounts. Borra breaking out his wallet and buying faker followers because him making 20 posts a day isn't doing anything for the follower count

I don't think that's quite right. Those days they merged the "Berrics" and "Berricsmag" accounts. Therefore, everyone that was following Berrics Mag (which is everyone that was following The Skateboard Mag) but was not already following The Berrics started following The Berrics. Then 20,000 people realized they were following The Berrics and unfollowed. This is what happened to me, anyway.

Interesting. That's why I stopped seeing berrics mag posts. I was only banned from the berrics proper account, now I guess I'm banned from both.

I wonder if they had to come clean about their artificially inflated followers during the hypebeast due diligence (lawyer word I heard on TV) when determining value. # of sets of eyeballs is value in media companies and if a quarter million of them are four elderly Chinese women with a wall of phones then they're worth a lot less.
