LIHR southern tour 2022

yizz. i had a thread where i toured new england for a few months a while back. i’m going south for two weeks end of this month/beginning of next

what’s good in:

roanoake

asheville

athens

chattanooga

birmingham

knoxville

and spots in between? holler at me with secret woods ramps and stuff

Asheville Foundation DIY, Cherokee skatepark and Waynesville NC all good.

Where are you starting? There’s not much in that stretch once you get past the Roanoke area. If you’re coming from the east, Charlottesville, VA has a really good park. It’s my favorite park in VA.

Bedford, VA is pretty fun too.

Blacksburg, VA has a good bowl but it’s like 20 minutes from the interstate.

Never been to Cherokee, NC but it looks good.

I’m pretty sure Kingsport, TN was just demolished so they can build a new park, so don’t go out of your way for that one.

Cookeville, TN has a grindline park that looks really good, but it’s also a bit out of the way

also: i’m gonna cop a new deck on this trip as my current shop blank (krudco in rochester shout out) is on its last legs. what’s a cool shop down there that deserves my crucial 40$

If you end up in Blacksburg, go check out Greenhouse. They’re the OG southern Virginia skate shop.
