No judgment here, just post things that you don't "get" because you're too old these days. I encourage lots of Abe Simpson-inspired cloud yelling! I'll start things of(f):

Modern-day Hip Hop/ Trap Music

This is literally the very first thing that popped into my head.

It’s very tasteful!

Tucked in T-shirts.
Yeah, like what the fuck's going on? And dad hats? Big pants?

Also non-skate-related: fidget spinners. I've never used one, seems like the new yo-yo except much less creative I guess. Or like baoding balls for kids or something.

Gangnam style dances, I heard about it briefly. I guess it's a dance. At least kids are dancing and having fun.

Online video games that take forever. Why would you waste your time? Which ties into this:

Younger people who vibe on me when they find out I skate because "it's for kids", but they play Pokemon Go or spend their weekends inside playing video games or some other lame shit like that.

yes! what a pain in the arse just to maintain a big green area of useless green stuff. I kinda think the same about flower gardens too; like yeah, I like flowers but if I had that space I'd be growin veggies like a mofo!

I'm 30 years old and there is a ton of shit I don't get.

Social media is not a real place, dipshits. I don't care how many other idiots are "following" you, they all blow dick and are useless anyway. You are one server chrash/bug away from losing that shit.

Phone addiction. Oh, you could survive without the fucking thing 10 years ago but it is different now? I fucking hate people that think that the "iPhone changed everything". Wrong, you lack of personality in combination with the fucking thing "changed everything".

Oh, yeah. Most people these days have those fucking phone cases with their credit card, ID, public transport pass and phone in it. Great idea, dipshit! Get that shit stolen/lost and you are fucked beyond fucked.

being zaney at work. i love the whole casual work environment trend but acting zaney is fucking weird.

the tight sweat pants thing in the gym is crazy to me.

haven't seen the youtube vlog stuff, sounds crazy. i'd go one step further and say reality tv in general.

the real estate shows where every episode the wife has some trend with a name she's chase "mid century modern" and the husband is bitching about the commute the whole time and they are always way off on their budget.

i don't really get all the hate about facebook and other social media. it seems like you get out of it what you want. they are just modern photo albums and a way to keep up with old work friends that some people take too seriously.

My kids have expressed on several occasions that they want to become "Youtubers". I know I've already failed as a parent.

The breathlessly incessant commentary in those YouTube videos.

That weird aggressive dancing in unison thing (post-krumping? Gangnam?) that looks like some future tribe of assholes landed on planet earth.

Everyone on little screens at every idle moment. Sometimes I'll be the only person in a public space not on a screen and it feels a little bit like a horror movie.

People posting fucking awful and inhumane comments online next to their picture and real name.

Those trendy challenges like the cinnamon challenge, tide pods and lately the condom sniff. I do get the underlying psychology but thinking about it logically it makes me fear for our future generation lol. Ofcourse there's the whole Darwinism/natural selection outlook, but still, what... the... f.

This in independent of age, but still - business attire - this is a catch-all for shirt & tie combos, suits, tuxedos, dinner jackets, blazers, slacks, dress shoes, all that kind of thing.  As a kid, this is what tedious, overly serious and joyless old men wore.  What's the attraction with this?  I'm pretty fortunate that my career has no uniform or dress code (which is part of what attracted me to it) and when it comes to weddings, I put on one of 2 shirts I own with a pair of dark grey or jet black twill jeans and some new trainers/ skate shoes and I'm good to go.  Otherwise, now in my early 40s, I've never worn a suit and have always avoided graduation balls and similar formal events because of the whole dress code thing.  So we're going to go out, eat, drink, rage all night? Awesome.  But why am I expected to wear a suit? That shit is uncomfortable at the best of times, inflexible, stiff in all the wrong places, literally looking the same as everybody else. I don't understand the mystique and supposed aura of masculinity they're meant to have as everybody looks like a narrow variation on a theme.

Those Christmas cards lots of seemingly American families send out with a sickeningly saccharine sweet, fake smiling, co-ordinated Sunday best wearing outfits on the front.  In fact, mainstream studio portrait photography in general.

Teenage girls who dress to impress to go out for Sunday lunch with their family.

People who like being outraged and offended.

The obsession with Starbucks.

Mac fanbois who lose their shit when somebody at work asks them to use Windows and decide they can't because Microsoft.

People who think not reading a book is badge of honour - definitely guilty of this as a youth.

I used to feel the same way and when I see a bunch douchey business bros I'm quite happy I'm not in that tribe (relatedly, when I hear the sound of women's dress shoes in a hallway it triggers thoughts of humorless adults [teachers?]).

That said, if you wear a well cut suit, you will most likely look really good and you may even notice people treating you better and women seem more interested in you (whether or not it's people who's favor you value is another matter). I probably only wear a suit once a year for a wedding, etc. but I'm always thinking afterwards that I ought to wear one more often because I'm suddenly not treated like the slob I really am. I don't, but there you go.

i don't think people who aren't customer facing should be forced to wear uncomfortable clothes at work but social occasions are different. i hate wearing that shit to the point that i was stressing out the other day because i had to wear socks and my feet go hot, i usually wear flip flops, but i get that people want to do nice events and dress to the occasion.

Mac fanbois who lose their shit when somebody at work asks them to use Windows and decide they can't because Microsoft.

you know why right? pc suck. i've got a contract right now that i'm running window on my mac in parallels and it's so annoying. i used to be a huge microsoft guy, to the point that i got awarded this MVP award they do a few years and used to use a windows phone and the whole nine but after mac started using linux as a kernel it was kind of all over. macs are just way, way better in just about every way except for the key boards. you ever notice that mac people don't use external mice but that's super common with the PC crowd? it's because not a single hardware manufacturer in the pc world can make a good mouse pad, i'm assuming because windows just sucks for this. that said i try really, really hard not to complain about using windows but man it is fucking hard.

I wish Facebook/instagram/Twitter never existed. It turned our culture into this “look at me and how great my life is” society.”  Everything seems so superficial now especially when it comes to relationships.  I get that it’s good for certain things like keeping in touch with old friends but ppl seem a little too connected now to the point where there is no privacy. I kinda miss the days actually when you would just call someone to see how they are doing after a little stretch of time instead of following what they are doing all the time on the internet.  I also don’t understand how ppl are ok with posting tons of photos of their lives on the internet. Not a good idea IMO....just don’t get it.

Now for my second rant....weddings. I had a friend who recently had a wedding out of the country and I couldn’t make it because..well.. not everyone can just drop everything, hop on a plane, and spend a ridiculous amount of money just for a couple days to see someone put a fucking ring on someone’s finger. That person got mad at me and said “if you were truly my friend, you would have did everything you could to make it there.”  Fuck you..you selfish entitled piece of shit.  Sorry, but you and your wife ARE NOT THAT SPECIAL!

I just don’t get it ppl anymore...

Just how generally stunned people are....like you notice when you're on or waiting on an elevator someone is always so shocked about where they ended up?  Doors open and they break into surprise face.....

These things...they go up and down....they usually stop at the numbers when you press them....

Same goes for sidewalks....

I'm walking in a straight line on the right side.....why are you so confused?

The social media thing, there is no reason to call people anymore because you already know what the fuck they've been up to and you'll have nothing to talk about.

The wedding comments are spot on. My best friend just asked me to be the best man at his wedding, 3 weeks away from the wedding, in South fuckin Korea. Yeah sure, let me get right on that.

I personally have very limited interest in what my friends are 'up to' if we're having conversation.  Talking about random shit, laughing and philosopy  is organic/fruitful and better than a report. .  Its about living in the present for me.
