Free Trade vs Protectionism
« on: April 06, 2018, 03:07:01 PM »
In my grad year of a two year Business Administration program. Currently taking Contemporary Business Issues and we're doing an end of class debate. The topic is whether or not Canada should adopt a "Canada First" approach (ie the Donald) and move more towards protectionism.

I'm on the con side, and if I don't do well I fail the class and don't graduate. Needless to say, I don't want that to happen, so would any slappers that are educated on the topic care to weigh in on it? I've done tons of research but I'm still interested in what you guys have to say.

(I accidentally deleted my initial post)

I don't believe in borders and feel no pride because I'm Canadian. What are we protecting?

As for free trade, it doesn't exist and probably never will.
