This thread made me dig deep into YouTube.
These videos are some of the first footage I remember putting out. It’s funny looking back and seeing how far things have come from the high school years.
It’s not hard to miss me, but I’m the one doing nollie flips in the first video and ollie/360 flipping everything in sight.

That Bob Marley cover is upsetting lol

All the suburb gaps and loading docks have made me quite nostalgic tho

Yeah, the guy that made these edits fucking sucks and listens to shitty music.
Seeing all of that “footage” again made me yearn for simpler times yet hope to never see the majority of the people in those videos ever again.

Heelflip from 2000-2001ish. i skated this spot everyday at lunch and after school. there were other drops, but this was the "big" one. felt like a bad man when i finally landed it after weeks of trying it. i was really hyped on baker. haha

this was in my friends garage that we'd skate in. it was attached to a funeral home they owned which also had a super sick bank to ledge in front. this was taken around the same time

I am the one in the air. I think either 2000 or 2002 since I am wearing those Stevie Williams shoes but not sure whether they are The Williams or The Reason?

No idea what deck, but I was all about Alien and DC for my first few years of skating (DWay, AVE, Stevie!), so likely an Alien or possible even a Seek.

If anyone on here is from northshore Mass, this is the skatepark in Manchester-by-the-Sea.

I remember I really wanted that Mullen deck back then for some reason; either that one, or the one they called the Sinner, with the graphic with dove, even to this day that one might be a personal favorite (although it's very simple). Eventually I tried to mail order one of them off a skateshop's print catalog pre-Internet and they sent me a completely different Mullen board with a huge panda graphic, in the wrong size too, I was so bummed. Still set it up, skated it and ended up snapping it on a dumb varial flip down a two stair although I landed it bolts, the nose just exploded and all the plies came apart.

1987? Lester Kasai board. Purple Cons waayyy ahead of the curve. Color mismatched Slime Balls back when they would break up wheel sets because they knew the next dummy would want to do the same.

1989? Skating in socks for reasons unknown. Wish I still had that deck.

Hopefully bring this back to life:
Skate camp 1987: Chris Miller (yes him) was teaching me to skate transition (never had before this). This was my first time skating this ramp by myself

Me & Bill Danforth (awesome guy). We started talking on day 1 about punk bands and he seemed blown away that an 11 year old liked all the same shit. We hung out the whole week.

Peanut Brown (cut off) & Chris Miller. Needed my mom to get a pic of him

September 1990, showing off my new H-Street Hensley. Indy 169s w/ green Supercush bushings. Powell fresstyle wheels.

Within a week of that:

want to say Oct. 1990, me & Girlfriend

Somewhere I have pics of the first time I ever skated - 1986 doing kickturns in my driveway and X-Mas 1986 skating a Vision board. I have 0 pics of me skating from like 1991-1998 which is fucking baffling. Bums me out!

Also want to add (mentioned it before).. this skate camp was in an outdoor rink at the park in 1987. The parking lot (not visible) behind the wall of the rink, and in front of that bridge is the 2nd place I ever rode a skateboard in my life. Next to this park is train tracks and then a neighborhood. I live in that neighborhood and cross the tracks to still skate there and take my son to the playground

Potato spec video of me heelflipping a pyramid back in 2006-

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aaxXkMkwVoM

Over the years Youtube seems to have murdered the quality more and more, but it's worth watching for the initial slam... wish i could get up and brush those off like that now.

I'm sure I can track down some of me as a really little kid but this is the first photo I remember actually shooting with a local "photographer" in high school trying to make it in skating. Judging by the t-shirt in hand it's Ryan Nix inspired so guessing around 2003-ish, making me around 15-16? Brown & black Reynolds 1's and tight ripped jeans, yikes.

Switch Ollie.

awesome. Love this thread!

So I'm not skating in this one....but I think it counts! I was lucky enough to travel to California in the 80's thanks to my mom's work and for a French kid obsessed with skating, it was paradise. I actualy made it to the OG Upland, still can't believe it when I look back. I could drop in, and fly out of the small bowls like all the other grommets did so I felt I fit right in ha. even though I couldn't speak english at all....actually I have some more pics from that day, I need to scan them when I have some time.
edit: thanks mom!

Came across this the other day.  2001 hillbomb that went wrong and at the time I thought the blood looked cool enough at the time to take a picture haha.

I already posted it in another thread. This one was taken at Pentecoast 1993. I was in a Christian camp that offered skating and the photographer took that picture of me. He then used it for this pamphlet ("About the right use of things") and also a calendar for a Christian teenager magazine. Only he never told me so I only found out when my mom came across the pamphlet somehow (in church I guess).

Anyway I am rocking a Street Rags cap, Sonic Youth Dirty shirt, huge no-brand shorts and Airwalk NTS. Board has to be New Deal Sargent everslick, with G&S trucks from the pre-BPSW phase (that's why they are so large) and small wheels (what else).

By the way the trick wasn't a make.

why come?

hey I forgot to give you props for reviving this thread! Also wanted to say I am extremely jealous of your getting a skating lesson with none other than Chris Miller..... :-X I had his pic on my wall as a teen and his Schmitt Stix cat board is the only board I ever kept after skating it. It's next to my computer right now!
