doing a 5050 on an 80ft long handrail and then popping out 2 feet before the end

classic 'instagram' clips with shit flatground tricks, zoomed in replays, no complies, trap music and 'the homie' saying some incomprehensible bullshit into the camera

on a vaguely related note i do enjoy when people do that accidental push (usually when turning) on the wrong side of their board

jazz push

Let me preface this post with the fact that I am slightly inebriated, very uneducated and I havent read any papers or done any research at all, or read your post really.

The "I better slow down" push. I don't know if there is a name for it

It's been said before but can we get one skate video without hugs or high fives.

celebratory shitty switch heel miss

Shaking your head when you land your trick- if you're not stoked on your maneuver then neither am I. See Tom Knox in the Vegas atlantic drift when he does that wallride over the little cement thing in the middle of the wall to get what I mean.

Muddbutt and headphones go without saying. Switch to a new pair or come back the next day and get it. Or just ditch the khakis and you can try for as long as you want. If you cant land your line without blasting your wu-tang, then don't even bother filming it, just go to the skatepark and have your nice little session with your music and ignore everyone at the park. You do you bro, just not in the footy.

Tic Tacs.

Throwing or kicking your board away in triumph. Ride the damn thing it just did something awesome for you.

The angle it is filmed at can always make or break it.

I actually like homie celebrations and the post trick hype though, skateboarding is fun and exciting and it's a great moment when your friend finally lands his shit.

I hate when people do that. It's in all the major videos. If I could do rails I would grind the whole thing. You don't drop all your wheels down at the end of a manual pad...

T-Rex arms. And swamp ass footage. I don't know how filmers don't just say, "You're doing a great kickflip but all we can see is ass sweat. Let's go shopping so you can buy some nice new pants. It's on me."

i need to see an example of t-rex arms stat!

i hate wack arm style

Filmer angle trick. When the trick over a gap is filmed to make it look respectable but really it's the size of a fuckin manhole.

Love that Dave Mayhew part, he kills it. But the switch flip the street gap or whatever is a perfect example of what I mentioned.

When filmers start a line with the fisheye up in the skaters face, or when the camera immediately pans to a fucking wall or the ground after the last trick. These were vx problems I guess but still.

Shitty music and cringey editing. If it's bad enough though, it's amazing. Like, the clip of Nyjah googley-eying that 18 that he's about to fuck. Don't think I've ever laughed out loud during filler footage. Thank you to whoever has that as your sig.

Otherwise, have fun, fuck it. The track suit shit and 90's comeback fashion is starting to weigh on me though. I'm cool with looking like a garbage person, whatever, walk into a thrift store and deck out, but that dude that wants to be Kalis needs to cool it.

I for one like that shit (when it's subtle and not overdone; every clip filmed like that would indeed be headache-inducing and make a video unwatchable). I know it's a touchy subject, though, but Josh Stewart used to make such camera movement work really well in Static 1 (ie. the DC section). Zach Chamberlin can pull it off as well and Dan Wolfe used to do it with pedestrians. I think it's really a street skater's thing to do, use the fisheye in wonky ways. but there's a fine line not to cross and I reckon if you aren't an exceptional filmer like the aforementioned people then there's a good chance you'll trip over and into the side of poor taste.

Yea I don’t get the high level of hate, I mean of course it looks bad but that just means they had to work for the trick.
I remember people on here used to talk shit in rail chomper kids because of how easy they could just 50-50 massive shit, but follow it up by saying they like people like HK because you know he had to work for it. To me it’s basically the same thing.
