Tons going on back East! Harold Hunter Day, Jimmy McDonald joins éS, Sean Cronan/Zoo NYC skyline board series and interview, Autumn Bowl jam, Tony Cox art show, and Malfa's blog!
Boston resident Kevin Coakley is a classic East Coast skater’s skater, the kind of guy who all the locals know should be a lot more famous than he is.
"How long have you lived in Melbourne? My whole life, born and bred. And loving it."
New York City has a plethora of nicknames: The Big Apple, Gotham, The City That Never Sleeps, and The Melting Pot amongst many other, but the one I like most is "The Capital of the World." It is the most populated city in America, as well as the most popular metroploitan area on the east coast
New York City has always been a home for raw underground street skaters. NYC is a place where many end up; its a huge melting pot of different culture. Brian Clarke hails from Long Island as well as Luke Malaney. Dan Forkin is from Cleveland, Ohio while Dave Willis is from New Jersey. Yaje Popson comes from Brazil but has been repping NYC since he started skating.
A few weeks back I headed up to Boston to shoot with Kevin Coakely while filming his Blueprint part with master filmer Dan Magee who was in town from London. Jack Sabback joined me on the cozy bus ride up the east coast with tall boys in hand and free wi-fi at our helm.
