Can't hate on that. This is the polar opposite of what I'm seeing in the evergreen skatepark topic.
They took every street league park ever built and fused it into a single one. Plus the bowl, which looks incredible.
-
The „street“ area is huge. That‘s like three skateparks.
Bowl looks dope! It would be great if they made this permanent.
-
One more bowl section would have been cool - that one is going to be tough to skate with more than one person, but really, backing this shit fully. That street section fucking rules.

Perfect

No flat bar
No manny pad
No pump track
🗑

I am convinced that the athlethes will perform well in these surroundings.
-
That looks too generic to offend. Wonder if it's like, transplantable.

Can't wait for the pumptrack olympics

Skateparks in Japan are pretty terrible. Wouldn't be surprised if they find a way to fuck it up.

What happens to the park after the games? Public use?

Hopefully it will be built to be kept standing. The Olympics are notorious for hastily building facilities that fall apart a few years after the games. Then it's the host cities problem to figure out what to do with them.
-
Where’s the slalom run? Where the flat interpretive skate dance area? The fuck! This is the olympics damn it! Not even a hill for speed runs. Phhhhfffft.
-
I see no CURBS? Zero?
-
Will there be a skate cross event? Like snowboard cross racing with ramps and turns?
-
Shoulda let the Dime guys design it.
-
I fucking hate A-Frame pyramids! Bring back the up/flat/down!
-
I wonder if any of the teams are going to build obstacles similar to those for their skaters between now and the Olympics.
-
Shoulda let the Dime guys design it.
This is the answer.

Nyjah is about to get buck.

I'm just thinking how the fuck are they going to rate the lines with that much? Is it going to be 2 categories(tranny and street)? Either way, that much street is really good because it can break the whole "do a trick get out of your board and go to the next obstacle" thing, in this you can skate through the whole line.

This has Foy written all over it

Pizzey skatepark in Australia is about to be updated with this extension with completion by September 2021.

Sincerely hoping this mirroring stuff doesn’t take off as the next trend of park designs

Can’t wait for Dime’s pisstake on the olympics to get more views and appreciation than some generic Californians skater doing the same kickflip combos.
Hope they can organize a 2021 event

Boring as fuck. I can’t believe anyone can be hyped on this, or the olympics in general.

I think it's pretty wild that they mirrored the whole street course, which I assume is done to level the playing field for both goofy and regular skateboarders. Definite Olympic influence right there, I cannot remember seeing anything like that in a contest before. Single obstacles, yes, but ensuring whole lines can be done exactly in the same way in either stance?
I don't care too much about the Olympics, but now I want to see someone do mirror lines on both sides.

This what the park looks like in Lake Havasu. Not as big but very very street league/olympic like.
I'm not sure all parks are going to take this design but it seems like there is a trend going on...which makes sense, I mean, the company who pitches an "olympic level" or "olympic style" park to the city council/head of recreation is likely to get their attention and speak their language.
Hmmm, I could have sworn I was told if I'm not interested in the olympics it won't affect me.
