Holdovers is really good….

Yep! Big 70's movies vibes. Hope it becomes a holiday time classic/staple

Lately I’ve noticed movies don’t last long in the theatre, hopefully this one runs through Christmas or I guess they line it up with streaming…..
[close]

It’s bound to get a bunch of Oscar noms so it’ll def be re-released in cinemas

I can’t wait to see this movie.

Definitely got a movie theater bender ahead, none that I've seen yet but: napoleon, holdovers, next goal wins, king of new York, new ghibli. Super stoked as shit

Watched oppenhiemer over the weekend and it was well done.  I like that there isnt a ton of cgi or special effects,  was well casted, truman and einstein were good.

Mister Organ from the same documentarian (David Farrier) who did Tickled is well worth it

Napoleon was awesome. Any flaws or complaints I hear are 100% valid but it was still a great watch for the action scenes and cinematography alone. Wonder what the movie would've been like with Ridleys original script before making significant changes working alongside Joaquin. I feel like Joaquin likely brought in what people hated

I hadn't heard about this but I'm in. During Covid, some of my podcasts friends and I covered Tickled and most of them went in blind. Their reactions were really fun because it turns into such a whacked out story. Farrier reminds me of a less sussy Louis Theroux.

Make sure you watch the Tickle King as well.  It was his follow up doc he did for HbO about the fallout from Tickled

Yeah there was weird baloney in My Scientologist Movie that seemed very staged. Maybe I'm being a little harsh and it's hard to wrangle Paz del la Huerte but that is the one where I was questioning how real any of it was.

We did the Tickle King and Tickled as a two-fer since it's kinda the same story

Beautiful film. Haven’t seen it in years but you have to submit. I watched a similar paced desert film recently from the same period.

Talk To Me
I'm a bit late but finally got around to seeing it and thought it was pretty good for what it was especially as it's my least favourite type of horror movie. Can't remember exact complaints I read on here but I think some people complained about bad acting which I disagree with especially in a world where shows like euphoria are winning awards and that's just some gremlins screeching at each other for an hour.
Also the accents which made me think everyone would be doing American accents or something but they are just Australians so to that I say fuck you to whoever that was. Everyone from the UK or the east coast sound like fucking toddlers and we don't complain about that.

Maybe I'm in a forgiving mood but I even thought the characters all being kinda corny made sense as far as that's what high schoolers are like when they're trying to be cool.

Wierd thing tho any like advertisement/ press I saw for it seemed to be focused on a character that was basically an extra with two lines so not sure what's going on there

Just watched Place Beyond the Pines for the second time. Man, it’s up there Drive. The two could be a serial.

Here is a map of the filming locations.

Maestro is a wonderful addition to the BCU (bisexual conductor universe).  Lydia Tar even makes a cameo in the post credit scene

I live two blocks from Netflix’s theater so that’s how I saw it.   I’m not sure if it’s open wide yet

He presented it at Beyond Fest in L.A. recently (not sure if it was a remastered version) but I couldn't get a ticket.

Also, just so you know, the new Egyptian is legit.  Haven’t been to Vista yet

The Egyptian is my shit.  Very curious about how the remodel took.

Stoked on The Abyss this Wednesday.  Never really properly seen it, just parts, so that should be rad…
