If I had somewhere important to be and was running a little late and I saw Gershon walking down the street, I'd be scared as hell to ask him how his day was going.
-
His views seem very much 90s rapper influenced. When rappers still considered themselves to be poets. That's really refereshing today. He's thinking about alot of stuff at the same time. It is kind of hard to listen to sometimes.
-
looking forward to rodney vs gerhson diss poetry battles on insta - the skateboard whisperer vs sweatshop
-
hard work on multiple levels - the guy desecrates dead mens style and lives with his mother.
-
I really hope they brought up the fact that Gershon knocked out Andrew Reynolds and made a board graphic out of it.
-
Dont be silly - they managed to avoid anything remotely interesting

We have enough data now to chart how often Rodger interrupts the guest by incorrectly guessing what the end of their sentence is going to be.
I have not got a final figure yet but first indications are it is the realm of "Way too fucking much".
-
He seems really like (pseudo) insightful .

Yah. He said A LOT without saying much at all.

That room is a veritable potpourri of social disfunction!

haha, gershon rules! he's an eccentric but i can see him and mj being buddies. or driving each other nuts. they should ressurect the A-Team under a different name.
like his lowkey diss of rodney. he did kind of hide behind all the riders who could do mainstream tricks. can mullen tailslide? can he even grind derby?
-
I was stoked to see Gershon on here because he's one of those hardcore skate rats. I loved following the self-made videos he was doing in KC. The dude was out there in the streets in shitty weather filming himself just like I do.
It would be cool to see him interviewed by someone who's actually interested in skateboarding and knows anything at all about his guests.
-
That guy punched shaggy in the face
-
Is he Zion Wrights dad?
-
Is he Zion Wrights dad?
If he was he would've disowned him long ago.
-
That was weird. I could see him on MJ's new company.

Agree. I'm so sick of the kookclub and their total overall cluelessness. I can't even take watching the show anymore but will probably watch this one because of G-mos.
-
I get bummed on the episodes where Roger doesn't mention past lovers or his sexual endeavors. I hope for a Roger's love life highlight reel somewhere down the line.
-
I don't understand his idea about how an A-Team video could've never happened because, "Where would Rodney fit? First or last part?" Motherfucker was in a skate video with Rodney years after A-Team folded... Globe's Opinion

You cant blame Crob on this one. GMOS didnt give anyone in the room a chance to even ask a single question.
-
The guy seems like a jerk. I was on board till the end when he started talking about yelling at people at the skatepark.

Yah, dude is on some shit. Talking about the use of social media and wanting to talk to people but in person not wanting too. Kind of a weirdo.

Well said.
-
I think this episode came down to two things
1. The hosts inability to prep for the show/engage with the guest
2. The fact Gershon is 50% smart 50% insane. Probably leaning more on the crazy side.
Neither changes the fact that there has not been a good episode since Antwuan.
-
I'm a fan of his skating but this was a pretty disappointing episode. 2 hours of rambling. I damn near fell asleep. The hosts did not seem in control of the conversation one bit.
The bunt has been much better than 9 club lately. Those guys are actually funny and not just yes manning everyone that comes on the show.
-
yeah bunt is way better cant watch anymore than 30 minutes of this episode
-
I got stressed out listening to this.
-
A couple of good stories but this episode was all over the place.Other than that just the typical lets start from the beginning, Crob being completely clueless of their career, then asking the guest for a fulll part at the end.
-
I got stressed out listening to this.
I’m feeling the same . The theory about being friends got to be to much . I thought he didn’t overthink things . Plus he’s way to old to be on or care about Facebook.
-
lost me when he dissed the armed forces it's just a business blah blah, yea war sucks the government sucks, but Gershon gets to live here in a free counrty and wander around skating and complaining. try living in communist or 3rd world countries Gershon.. But long ago or recently people we're related to or knew died so we can live in a free country and spend our days worrying about kick flips. Were lucky as hell, Rest assured country's have tried to take that freedom away from us.
Besides that he just has a soured attitude, mad he didn't stay on top

That's exactly how I see him, a 90s rapper - sure I respect his contribution to his craft, but that doesn't mean I have to subscribe to to every one of his crazy little conspiracy theories.
-

There is a big difference because THPS2 came out 2000 and after then Rodney Mullen became every newbie skate rat/poser's favorite skater (including me). Opinion came out in 2001 so Rodneys reputation was in a completely different place than it was in the later 90's.
But yeah, Jenkem prefaced is interview saying he'd trail off and they were not kidding.
-
He actually believes in his own importance

Did you burn your Nikes too?
-
I was never into it anyway. Kf stalefishes on mini ramp didn't do it for me as a spectator. He's undeniebly good but not what I was trying to see when I was younger.
-
I felt terrible, but I checked out of this one early, and Gershon is someone that I love to watch skate. It was all over the place right off the bat.
They can't all be winners, I reckon.
-
Used to think Gershon was awesome back in the day.
The Jenkem interview made him look bitter and a little off his rocker.
I wont watch this.
-
50 minute in realizing this episode is over 2hrs. And he hasn't really talked about shit I care about. Does they ever go into the standard how did you get started, who were your sponsors, how'd you fall off, what are you doing now, conversation?
-
can Crob backside grind??

i thought the same thing, but I actually like his nine club interview. especially fun to see the hosts wince when he starts going in on Rodney. it's good to see some unfiltered, sincere opinions. would be a nightmare to get cornered by this dude at a bar and get talked at for 3 hours, though.

haha, right?!

Loved all the san jose inferences in the last couple episodes
Silver Creek was the skate spot in the late 90's
Pleasonton Skatepark ...is it still around
-
He seemed way to into himself. Getting all philosophical and deep just didnt make me like him.
-
Would be nice if the hosts of the show did some research and USED IT TO CREATE A GOOD EPISODE
-
This dude uttered almost no complete sentences expressing a single thought.
He also interrupted every single question or comment with “yeah yeah yeah no no yeah no”
I grew up watching the hell out of GMos’ video parts , and I respect his abilities on a skateboard. But this was a horrible interview.
-
“People get upset about wat I comment on Instagram because I use big words” —- complains about people commenting on his Instagram.—-
He has so been on the “you don’t know” me shit rant since forever too.
“This is not anyone business but ours”
Then confronts George in front of everyone.
-
Member people we don't know what shape his mom's in. Kudos to anyone who's hands on and dosen't stick their mom in a home.
-

that was my thought too.
I somehow made it through the whole thing over the course of two days and as someone who doesn't know too much about Gershon, I felt like I learned nothing in the end. I don't necessarily think that's the hosts fault, they could always do a bit more of course, but damn Gershon really needs to reign it in a bit with the tangents. Nevertheless it was still something to listen to in the car.
-
the more I watch this, he kinda reads like someone who went through childhood trauma or abuse.
-
I usually try to stick around when the episode starts to suck cause I enjoy the banter between hosts but I'm going to have to add this one to the list of unfinished episodes. Dude can't tell a story to save his life. Must have been a pain in the ass to edit, too.
Yes, I appreciate what you did - just not what you're doing.
-
i'm not sure he's as informed as he should be about tax id#s and "entities". i mean he could be, but....i was concerned.
-
He has a lot to say and too many words to say it. Rips but I haven't finished this episode yet a dont know if I will. Crob's lack of knowledge anything skate related needs to change, shits getting old. He could at least ask the other guys, siri or Alexa some tidbits on upcoming guests he's going to "uhuh" hmm yea" "ohh"
-
Hey Crob, Roger, and Kelly, I have it on good authority that Henry Sanchez is willing to do an episode when you ask him so get that going.
Then get James Kelch and Ricky Oyola on the show.
-
Gershon popped up at Tampa Pro about 10 years ago. It had been a decade since anyone had really seen him. I was so drunk/stoked to see him that I fuckin clung onto him like “dude, let me buy you some beers, where you been? Loved your shit on the A-Team and old Santa Cruz stuff!” Dude must of had the most patience dealing with my annoying ass. Especially cause he’s been known to knock out people in the past. FYI: He is a lot smaller than You’d think in person. Probably 5’6.
Anywhoo... in the years since, I’ve heard he’s into some crazy conspiracy theories, and gets on his soapbox via social media. I haven’t watched this episode but it sounds like it went better than I expected. Which isn’t exactly good.
-
Tyrone Olson and Oscar Jordan are going in about this episode on their facebook page.
Thy don't have a good thing to say about Gershon either...
Of course I'm just a nobody from Belgium and I don't know him personally, but he definitely seems a little stuck up and 'out there'. And this is not the only interview that struck me that way.
I'm going to have a complete listen tonight while the gf is sleeping.
-
Classic example of great skaters don't = great people.
-
He's definitely a bit off his rocker. I mean, the mile long list of his former sponsors speaks volumes. All those companies and people who work for them just can't be thieves trying to rip him off, which he seems to think. He must be impossible to work with.
I watched a few of his insta-clips and I don't really see the point. Shitty filmed mediocre clips of a guy who used to be good. Now he's just slow. He really thinks highly of himself though. On all aspects of life.
-
he really kind of exposed himself to be low-level unhinged in that Jenkem interview -- is all of skate media gonna interview him now hoping for some more spicy quotables?
did he discuss how he self-identifies as "not black"?

Enjoyed it mostly. Roberts seemed terrified the whole time that Gershon was going to say bad shit about industry untouchables. Can we fire him and replace him with Jenkem's executive editor? I want to hear all the dirt.

This shit is depressing, wakka flakka flame claims it too. Imagine hating your ethnicity so much that you claimed that it wasn’t who you are, and it was the only thing you wrote about yourself in a one sentence bio.
There were people of African descent who escaped slavery and joined the Cherokee and other nations, but even those who joined were still ethnically African. Cherokee people do still exist. Here’s their national tribal council:
Don’t look easy to confuse for black to me.
Honestly though, its consistent with the rest of who he is, he doesn’t like anybody identifying him in any way but one specific self-image in his head “I’m not Gersh,” “I’m not a ‘skateboarder’” etc.
Hope dude finds peace

Military presence and amount of freedom are inversely related.
Communist nations? The Soviet Union collapsed because of overspending on their MILITARY.
Let’s take a look at how other communist nations view their militaries:
Here’s North Korea showing that commies hate the military:
China? If only they had a military, there’d be freedom!
Oh wait
(https://goo.gl/images/tPB5Oh)
The reality is that the stronger a military is, the less free the people are.
The whole “freedom isn’t free” military thing is complete and utter bullshit propaganda that is based on no evidence.
And no, other countries don’t try to take pur freedom, we take theirs. Iraq, Afghanistan, Vietnam, Korea, etc. all our wars are about interfering with a nation’s right to self-determination. The last war fought to maintain out nation’s existence was the war of 1812, jackass
