Love me a slappy, but curbs arn't often grindable where I live. Recently taken to nollieing manhole covers. feels great when you get a good one...
-
slappies, pop up and down curbs, crack bonks, no complies, powerslides, wallrides, hippy jumps if applicable, shuvs with no pop etc
basically a polar video
-
Bumping the front wheels off of cracks in the pavement, powerslides, manuals and shifty ollies.
-
Tell ya what I just thought of: the brrrrrap of flinging a manual through storm drain grating. one could call it... gratifying
-
manuals on curbs, nollie bs 180s, 3 shuvs, wallrides
-
the brrrrrap
I purposefully try and hit as many different kinds of gapped surfaces I can, brick walkways, any kind of grate, those raised bump things for the blind
-
nollie back tre shuvs, fakie bigspins, shifty ollies
-
Nollie shuv and 360 shuv , no pop for either lol
-
cruising down the street smoking indo, sippin on gin and juice. laybacks.
but mostly ollies and bs nollie 180s.
-
Something about just manualling without popping into it on a patch of different colored sidewalk or road feels oddly satisfying.
Nothing like a solid nollie while you're cruising either.
-
I cast my vote for the curb firecracker
-
Crack pops. Straight no comply up or down curbs. And those frontside shifties where you don’t really pop, but all wheels are up, and you tail skid sideways
-
NOT looking both ways
-
Ollies, bs 180's and nollie/fakie pops off big cracks.
-
fs 180, sw fs 180, nollie bs shuv, kickflip
-
Ollie onto sidewalk, manual and smackin the tail or gettin a lil taste of curb on the way back into the road
Powerslides to check speed, revert and half cab back out
-
oh: switch push
-
- i'm not sure what the technical name is - but 180s with no pop. 180 carves? frontside and backside.
- manuals over anything with lines/textures that distinguish them from the "normal" ground.
- nollie front 180 then switch front 180 back to regular
- ollie into manual ollie out, ollie into nose manual nollie out, all on flat.
-
poweslides, nollie bonks and long cruisy flat ground manuals
-
ollie up curb
toe drag
-
I repeat the same shit if I'm cruising. Been on rotation for about 20 years.
Back 180, switch 180, kickflip, nollie back 180, switch front shove, fakie 180, nollie, heelflip
Any variation of these go toos
-
a simple ollie going fast as fuck
-
One more vote for firecracker a curb. Also nollie bs 180 followed by switch no comply 180 forever.
I saw at least four people say "crack bonks". Everyone I've ever met calls that a Chinese nollie. Is that just a west coast thing or?

Nah I’ve heard this and I live on the other side of the world, I think people have just dropped saying tricks that have a name anyone might complain about or be offended by, how many people do you see doing gay twists anymore?
-
Chinese n/ollies feel so good and are fun to do into manuals, rocket ollies or tail skids over manhole covers are fun, I always feel cool when I casually pop up a curb, doing manuals over speed bumps
-
all kinds of powerslides, to fakie, crail tail, ...
180s, wall slaps and ollies.
that is pretty much everything i do.
-
Most of the time my legs are way too stiff to even pop an Ollie up a curb (which is unfortunate for such an obvious favorite/necessity), but I do enjoy powerslides and bumping cracks. Cruising around warmed-up I love to throw in Half Cab Ollies.
-
Backside 180 off the gutter but the type you don’t pop. The sound of the slide is beautiful
-
Like everyone has said, slappies, wallrides, tail scrapes on manholes. I am a huge fan of fs shuvs out of curb cuts too.
-
crail block skids over any metal plate cover
-
Kicflips front shuvs front 180s powerslides
-
back 180 to switch hillbomb
-
MAYBE a fakie flip fakie one foot or a full cab. 'cruising down the street' means going a few mph faster than I usually like to go to try tricks.
-
nollie bumps, 360 flips, manuals
-
I just constantly do those little tail scrape shifty things and pretend I’m Omar Salazar.
-
Attempt to look cool pushing, going up curbs, etc, then immediately eating shit in front of a large group of people/cars/beautiful girls.
-
nollie crack bonks and popping over manhole covers
-
Manuals between cracks and lines in the road. Avoiding getting hit by cars and buses.
-

I would/ sometimes do call them that but there was a time (at least in Aus) where Chinese Ollie referred to a switch backside 180 ... or maybe I just dreamed that?
-
Ollie norths, back 180s and the odd slappy when available. Curb crackers for sure
-
crack nollies are always chinese ollies or chinese nollies, i forget which.

What VHS Era said...lining up the distance between those tar like filler strips and holding a manual between em.
-

I heard Chinese ollie. Pretty sure it predates nollies and goes back to dudes bonking coping like that rolling into a vert ramp. Wouldn’t be surprised if the name relates to some stereotype about China/Chinese people, so I’m not too bummed that most people call them crack bonks these days
On topic: I do those...whatever you want to call them, wallride nollies, slaloming random traffic cones, occasionally powersliding completely around to fakie, cruising fakie for a minute, then halfcab powersliding to regular when I’m skating a chill hill. My all time favorite though is pushing down the biggest hills I can handle pushing down
-
My favorites are doing overexaggerated pushes and soulcarves while smoking a cigarette.. I look so cool doing that I know.
I just constantly do those little tail scrape shifty things and pretend I’m Omar Salazar.
is also a good one.
chinese ollies too
-
180's on every stance, ollies in every stance and powerslides, by doing this you get to the spot already hyped af and warmed
-
checking my phone
no comply 180 then fakie front shove
-
I'm a big fan of really popped f/s 180s going as fast as possible, then b/s half cab. Sometimes the half cab is full 180, sometimes it's a fakie ollie with a little bit of turning but the majority of the 180 is a pivot. The pivoted version is cool because it feels like so much could go wrong so it's a cheap way to get a little bit of a rush.
Also I like doing the same "line" with back 180s and those super quick back 180 powerslides.
For a while, I'd do the quick back 180 powerslide and then f/s halfcab as quickly as possible after. Was inspired by a Brian Peacock clip I saw and that's a fun one.

When I was in my early teens I had a friend who’s dad was a washed up 80s comp skater. He called them Chinese eyed ollies and had some explanation for them being slanted and backwards. That always kinda put a bad taste in my mouth. Dude was openly racist, and homophobic, but he could early grab method his F150 the long way, and he bought us beer.

going fast and floating nollies up and down curbs
-
switch bigflip, then fakie hardflip switch feeble back 180 on my local grocery store flatbar, lil warm up throwaway
-
chest high ollies, switch triple tre, backflip to fakie, nothing too serious
-

i was going to say not falling / staying on my board but the real answer is probably this
-
Shifty cause im in the city
-
Dumb question: How do you do those shifty tailscrapes? Any good clips of them?
I've avoided them ever since I first tried a couple. Felt like I looked as if I was trying to learn how to ollie again. I remember my homie being like, "What the fuck was that?" And not in the way that would imply that his mind was being blown, but rather in the way that he was wondering if I just had a stroke on my board.
-
I like sticking my thumb out and then when I get picked up by a stranger I give them oral sex.

oh: switch push

I’ve always loved popping a fat front shuv while I’m rolling down the street.
It doesn’t always work out, but when it does it hypes me up more than doing any trick down a set.

lil china nollie for sure.
i've had the same cruising line for years now. fs no comply, fakie big spin, no comply shuv, nollie flip. or sometimes if my legs are jacked the last trick is a bitchen primo.
