I'm working in a shelter for single men (homeless people along with asylum seekers) and this is a resident, who got beat up by a cocain/alcohol addict.

How do you approach getting the photo? Like do you talk to him and at the end of it, just ask if you can take a photo?

well some people live here for moths or even years, so people know who I am (I'm a social worker by the way, so I'm a "good guy"). and it's know that I take pictures of residents. normally I just ask them directly (if I'm sure they know my face): can I can a picture of you and your tattoos? your face looks horrible, let me take a picture. it works 9 out of 10 times. most people here dont get much love and attention, so it's kind of a nice thing to stand in front of a hasselblad with a tripod.

My film cameras:

Nikon N60, Pentax K1000 with a Quantaray Tech-10 70-300 Telephoto, new Miranda EE, and a Minolta Easy Flash Hi-Matic 9

My buddy gave this to me the other night, new toy!

Thats an expanded viewfinder when you slide the top off. So fucking rad. Shooting my first roll on it now. I think the only thing that is broken is the light meter. I guess these things are super nice cameras, built really well. I'm fucking juiced!!!!!!
I will scan some of my stuff eventually and post it.
