JB.....thanks my man....even though I am the loner boner using digital. Haha.

I really need to pick up another film camera. One with more of a lens and not a rangefinder type camera which is the only thing I have. I'd like to just see if I can apply the same things that I know with digital and do some long exposures and what not.

what digi are you using?

I am using a Canon Mark 3 and primarily a 24mm F/1.4. The only second lens I have is the nifty fifty but I hope to get another lens soon.

cupcakes and mobflip not-withstanding this page is on some serious highgrade level. Stoked!

I found some old rolls yesterday hidden in a cupboard. So stoked to get the contact sheets back and get some prints done. Hopefully some lost memories in there. Will share anything half decent. This thread is sick.

Here's some pictures of a day during spring break from my nikonos. Shows the classiness of Fort Myers Beach. Sorry the scans are kinda shitty.

Nice, dude! I'm trying to save up to get in the full frame game, but having no money is getting in the way of that.

A better option is to resize images before posting, allowing the page to load much faster.

Inspiring stuff! Thanks for posting it.

If you feel like it, you should submit some stuff to The Quiet Life's Camera Club.
http://www.thequietlife.com/camera_club/cc_join.php

The editor/curator is a bit of a tosser but I'm pretty sure if you submit 3 one or more will be posted.

Been in the darkroom working on a couple school projects, going to try my first diptych tomorrow.

new stuff. ive been shooting a ton ever since i got my camera and having a lot of fun. pretty stoked on photography right now.

maybe someone can help me with this. when i first got my camera, i left it in jpeg mode just so i could get used to it. i was happy with the results so i decided that id switch it over to RAW hoping that the image quality would be a little bit better. everything ive shot in raw looks like shit even after ive edited it in lightroom. and i have to spend way more time processing than i did with the jpegs. ive never really shot in RAW before, so i dont really know much about it besides that its completely unprocessed, therefore should be a better quality image after you process it (i would imagine). i know im not shooting with a high quality camera, but i cant figure out why my jpegs were such better quailty than im getting from the RAW shots. it might just be that the camera (canon s110) has the best results in jpegs.

Good stuff, JB. I shoot RAW, but I don't know too much about it, at least in regards to your problem.

I've been shooting raw the last couple years, as well as working as a photo editor; the main difference between jpeg and raw is that raw has much much more flexibility when it comes to post processing, there is more detail in dark areas, etc. I'm not really familiar with what you're describing though, if you shoot in jpeg+raw mode and post a comparison I'll get a better idea. good luck

next time i go out ill do this, process the shots the way i want them and post a comparison. the main difference im seeing is that the jpegs are a lot sharper and the raw photos come out really grainy even at low iso settings.
