The Raw and JPeg thing baffles me. I know people are supposed to shoot RAW but I always thought it had to do with the size of the photo making more the difference. The post processing thing I don't understand. I mean I can edit a JPeg just as good as a RAW file but mind you all these photos are going on the web and not for print. I understand the details of things but when people bring that up, I always think its just a bad photo to begin with.

I am sure I am like the only person that is anit RAW but honestly it has more to do with me not having the harddrive space. Haha. But if you are shooting for web, no harm in JPegs unless it is really low pixel count.

ive seriously been looking for a canon 15mm fisheye or sigma 15mm for over a year now. every day on craigslist and ebay, they either sell for way too much or i somehow miss all the cheap deals. its incredibly frustrating

I hear you man. I really don't like the f/4 version that is out. I used to see some good used ones for decent price but now even the cosmetically bad ones are going for retail cause they don't make them no more. I still have no clue why it was discontinued because the L lens version was hardly a replacement for it.....imo anyways.

No new work of my own to show due to a bad foot keeping me on
the sidelines.

Opened a new blog just now though. Posting interesting links and
what not.

http://danskjaeveland.com/blog

The two latest posts give you the link to an interesting
Winogrand lecture and a couple of Daido Moriyama books
in PDF format.

I will focus quite a bit on links and showcasing what I feel
is great photography. Perhaps a bit pre-millenium focused in
the beginning since it's currently what I'm studying.

So I had to go to NYC for a couple days for work.  It was a super busy trip, but I was super motived to take some pics so I got up at 5:30am both days I was there because it was the only time I would have had to explore the city a bit.  Here's some of the pics I took:

Damn, those NY are so sick The Bullet! I've been trying to force myself to get up real early because I've never shot in early morning sunrise light before. You might have given me enough motivation to try it.

Thanks man!! yeah, it's seriously so fun.  It sucks to force yourself out of bed, but once you get out it's so awesome, the lighting is so nice to work with.  Not quite as nice as it is when the sun is setting, but still cool!

Saw the Vivian Maier documentary tonight. Her work is a huge influence on me so it's nice to see how much attention she's getting, whether she'd like it or not. I knew she was a little off, but damn. If you guys get the chance, I suggest you see it.

And some recent work.

Glad that you like these! As fun as the tx-1/xpan is, I gotta admit that 8 out of 10 pics still look really bad - After owning the camera for 8 months. It's hard to get used to a rangefinder with that format if your eye is used to 6x6.
