Some recently ironed 40x30 prints :

The first one is a picture of a road in Cornwall I took in 2013, and the other are more recent : a plant in my flat, a gig in Paris and people walking on a hill in Cape Town, all 2016.

I've been using flickr again actively. Also created a tumblr account
where I basically mirror the content from my flickr.

It's an app called VSCOcam. It's awesome, there's a bunch of film-like presets and you can do almost everything you can do in lightroom on your phone.

I so want to go to Oslo and for the northern nights. I went to Iceland and didn't get to see it there but Oslo seems more of a city to explore and and you still get a chance to see the northern lights.

I'm new to film and I've been sitting on a couple rolls , and had a question regarding getting them developed. What would be less expensive using an online mail service or going to an actual photo lab.?  And what is usually the average price per roll?

Depends on where you are. I'm lucky because Baltimore has a respectable lab that does my C-41 for pretty cheap, but I understand a lot of people don't have that. They do it for around $4.50 a roll which isn't bad, especially because they're not Rite Aid or Costco.

I do send my slide film out to Citizen's Photo in Portland and they do a fantastic job. Plus they're quick and affordable.

back when i was into it, it was costing me close to between $8-10 a roll to get it developed, scanned and digitized.

the cost was ultimate why i lost interest in the hobby.  :-\

i still love looking at this thread though. a lot of you guys shoot really great stuff.

If you do go, make sure to visit other parts of the country as well for some diversity.

If you dig shooting film, take a class at a local community college if possible. You'll learn how to process film yourself and save some $ in the long run. Did that while finishing my associates degree and remain friendly with the teacher to this day and he lets me use the lab during non-class hours. I'm in the process of setting things up so I can process at home, almost there.

Sorry I haven't contributed lately. New job has been taking up my time. Have added some new photos to my website - www.mydumbluck.com

Been very stoked and inspired by the photos I've seen in this thread. Thank you all for sharing your work!

Congrats on the show Fishsticks! That's awesome!

I shoot color and get it developed by Walgreens. Their scans are terrible. Like REALLY bad. But I recently invested in a Epson V550 scanner and the photos look amazing. If you have walgreens or costco scan them, you're going to be disappointed. Walgreens does it for $7 which is way more than the actual camera shop in my area, but the shop is over 30 minutes away and I don't have a car at the moment so I can't get out there. Once I have a car I'll probably go out there more often, but at the moment it works.

Shot these of the daughters of a friend of mine.

Both talented and more pro than some actual models I've worked with.

They're age 8 & 12.

shot with a Canon 5d mark 2 with a 85 mm

This little interview about film photography I did awhile back just came out. It features some of my favorite photos I've taken if you guys want to check it out!
