Christmas present. I know it's a mid level SLR but for the price I'm stoked. Any tips and tricks from someone with experience is appreciated.
shoot a ton of stuff and remeber what u did
don't use the automode ever, learn to shoot totally manual or using aperture proirity. During the day u can pretty much lock it sat 5.6 or 8 and let the camera auto shutter. just try to pay attention to what it shoots at in all kinds of situations. the great thing about digital is it'll attach all your settings to the photo so you can go back and figure stuff out.
Really the best way to understand everything is find 70s-early 80's fully manual Slr with an internal meter so that u have to make adjustments on your own. you can usually find them for cheap i got a really cool pentax for $30 on craigslist, and old metal cameras have the best results.

^^^Very well said. Always shoot manual and never automatic. Whole point of a DSLR is getting used it's settings and shoot every photo different according to what you see. Best advice is just shoot and learn from trial and error. That is the beauty of digital......you are never wasting film or anything so it is so affordable to learn how to capture images that you want. Also just ask questions to other photographers and just read up stuff on mags, internet and even youtube videos.

since sebastian toombs did the internet suicide its to us to keep this topic alive.

i think i have new stuff to post in two weeks, shot 3-4 films in the last weeks. it's pretty fucked to go outside for 1.5 hours to shot, when it's minus 5°c/plus 23°f. i still did. horrrray.

I froze my fucking fingers off shooting a roll of snowboarding stuff without gloves when it was a nice breezy -15 in Calgary. Hopefully I'll get that roll back pretty quick and post something up.

found out today, that there were still 2 developed rolls at the shop that i didn't catch before the holidays. holga and minolta afc, just stuff the cameras i always have in my bag on a regular base. point and shoot.

edit: lurkshop, i've seen these canon t cameras on ebay before, but thought they were some bullshit cheap cameras. but they got the better fd lenses and the t90 has even a x-sync of 250, which is pretty amazing for a canon.

I got my first roll back and I'm pretty psyched on them.

I bought a roll of color and I'm wondering if there's anything I should take into consideration or adjust before I start shooting?

take yourself time to make a picture. look trough the viewfinder and if doesn't look good to you, just don't shoot.

other question: if i buy myself a flash meter (like sekonic), can this piece of plastic meter the available light to?

some little printys. this is the third time i've shot ten rolls before developing, so a couple of these are surprises to me.

and early roll on my yashica, i'm still trying it out. haven't gotten a lightmeter yet, so it's all guesses. explains the blue. the bottom right is me, actually

a friend's animaltastic birthday brunch party

more, but from my point and shoot

this was at least two months back. when i picked up these prints i'd completely forgotten about them. thats a girl that i had a short but extremely wonderful thing with, i kinda really miss her. this was probably the best day of my life. that's me top left.

a bunch of the next ones are from getting wasted at a local food court. we do this a bit too often.

more from the above. i really like this camera.

more wastedness. we like tiger beer.

more coming

these are beauties, only this mystirious blue lookes kinda awfull in my eyes.
and that composition with the blonde girl along with your subtitle makes me want to cry. i can definitly relate to have a perfect day AND having lovely looking pictures as memories.

as i told ... 3 rolls of film, 90% bullshit. i tried to do long time expores with a b/w film. maybe in my next life.

pictures can pretty much lie. it was minus 10°C that day.

normally i don't really like to make pictures of planes, it's kinda cheesy.

same building as above. i'm fascinated from the socialist/bauhaus style of buildings.
