DC for the most part seems to make it work by having flooded giant retailers like Walmart (9/10 when someone's wearing them, it's the Nets worn by random hicks or lesbians buying large tubs of mayo). Agreed on the Tiago thing, him and Wenning were the only ones who could make anyone sane wear them again. T-Funk looks 12, I'm not buying his Happy Meal shoes. Chase Webb? Pfft.

A lot of people in philly are running the dc lynx / small board / venture trucks look nowadays other than that pretty sure most people just kinda clown that whole "golden era" look. skateboardings always changing theres nothing new and innovative about what theyre doing

if it was 2005 i'd have to begrudgingly agree with you, but that just hasn't been true for well over a decade now.

i think it may heave peaked now, but for a loooooong time now not really giving a shit what goes on in america has been a big feature of european cultural and sub cultural life - with the 'coolest' people caring least.

i'm not saying this applies to me or throwing my weight behind it as a trend, but its definitely the way of things.

that aside what makes you say dc is popular and or cool in europe?

Ive been on a heavy DC tip since last year.. SKated three pairs of the Tiagos and damn are they amazing, the matt millers, the Lynx 2014 remake, three pairs of the Kalis S and just came up on the Legacy Slims off the classifieds.

The younger cool kids at my skatepark are very into the DC Kalis shoes.

I would also wear them, but none of my local skateshop has them and my feet are too weirdly shaped to order random shoes without trying them on first. Do they currently have a model that works for wide and fat feet?

As far as I can remember, the whole DC/Borra relaunch was because the total sales of US skateshops were lower than the ones in Germany, mainly because they had shifted their audience to fmx and rally.

But this was 10/8 years ago.

Vans is the poser's skate shoe in Europe these days and it's hard to see anyone that isn't rocking Vans/NikeSB/Adidas/NB in spots or skateparks.

i drip in nikes but flip in dcs. sometimes theyll see a pair of busenitz on my feet and im ok with that.

currently i am skating some dunks and they disintegrated so fast that i shoe goo'd a square patch from an old pair of blazers, which also blew out with incredible speed, to keep these shoes from a premature entry to the landfill.

the point is, DC shoes paradoxically feel cheaper than nikes yet be lasting longer when it comes to skating.

Same with me, I skated the Matt Millers a couple of years ago and I recently skated the Legacy Slims and am skating the Kalis S and I can vouch that DC makes quality shit for sure. I'm a cupsole dude and they definitely are catering to my needs as a skater. I like the whole nostalgia angle and I think it's cool, but definitely buy them because they are good shoes that will last a long time and skate really good. (Besides I like the skating the slimmed down versions of the old shoes or models that aren't huge)
