Entertaining but kinda underwhelming, considering I've heard a lot of good things about it. I saw the twist coming from a mile away, but a good watch regardless... and yeah, pretty violent. B-
Surprisingly good documentary about the Boston hahdcore scene... one that was kinda ridiculous and overly-serious but made some damn good records. Some great interviews, including Jake Phelps which was pretty rad, and shockingly Henry Rollins or Ian Mackaye weren't involved (since they're in pretty much every punk rock doc, ever). B+
Me dig this one... damn good Scottish film about a young, bookwormy kid growing up in Glasgow in the 70's and getting involved with gangs, and ends up going bad. A typical coming of age story, but well worth it for dialogue (even WITH subtitles it was hard to understand) , the clothes (total mod/skinhead/glam/bay city rollers) and a good soundtrack, too. In the same vein as Made In England or Green Street Hooligans. A
