Why is the Franky's a soft launch tho? No IG marketing, no posts from Franky himself...

We had a lot of stuff drop all at once, so Rone posts for now and then you'll start seeing the 417 Franky stuff very soon.  Sometimes it's hard to navigate all of it at once!  Shops are getting them now though, so it's just giving them a head start on spreading the word.

I'm loving the 1010 but can we get some decent color ways?

White + gum is awesome

White + blue + yellow is horrible

For an all white colorway on the Rone is 80$+ more dollars and even then you still find a way to make the bottom "off white"

I'm seeing that NB# are doing a V2 of the 440, but does anyone know what the differences are supposed to be? I didn't get accepted into that test sadly.

Hopefully the same but with an actual insole midsole and not that napkin just the front half of your foot basically smacking directly into the ground

If they shipped with the NB branded Superfeet that I put in I would be stoked. Or a slightly thicker midsole

Or honestly just extend the midsole into the forefoot

https://wearecivil.com/shop/footwear/new-balance-440-white-blue/

In this colourway you can see the orange midsole in the bottom and it abruptly stops right before the forefoot. I get its for boardfeel but it honestly can hurt to land on your feet in that area. If the midsole was just extended such that it was full length I'd be so hyped

I tired on Frankys shoe today and can confirm it runs true to size. I got wide feet and these fit pretty good. Can also confirm that these shoes will have a less chance of rolling your ankles. Wide soles help with that and also it being a mid while laced all the way up felt pretty good (look at my username for reference lol) Will purchase in the future after I skate through 3 pairs of 1010s on ice lol Impact not as good as 1010 but that wasnt expected

Yah basically this. Just some high density foam there would be awesome. My soles don't wear out before my upper and the shoes are fine for the most part. I'll likely swap insoles to get more arch support but I don't want that built into the shoe necessarily.

happy to see a brand taking something that works and improving on it, not something that happens anymore. so easy for a shoe company to keep that stat quo or scrap it after a while.

It probably won’t be, but I hope it’s a little wider of a shoe

I was about to buy the Black 440H. But wondering if I should bother now since they’re making some V2s.

i'm willing to bet you could go through them before the v2 hit judging from how they are being talked about

They not coming out till next year…that’s at least 8 pairs to cop before those drop.

We're actually going to start making 2-3 models in 2E width for skate shoes for the first time.  It'll only probably be on the basic colors, but you'll have options come Spring 2024 for the first time.  I doubt many shops will pick up a wider option, but the NB site and a few others will carry them I'm sure.

We love u @rothdigga

Btw anybody tried 425? Found them in a sick colorway for a great price so I'm tempted. Would those be TTS?

Wouldn’t be the first time a new model is worse. I just hope they don’t mess with the sizing. Don’t know much they can improve without turning it into another shoe. Maybe they’ll sell both models together.

Tried on the villanis, i wanted to like them but they just don’t fit me. I need a wider/taller midfoot and they squished my feet too much.

Honestly I think a little bit more durability in the toe-cap area and the 440 would be a perfect shoe (For me at least)

I’m all for seeing some more cushioning in the 440s. I love the look of the shoe, but I can’t really say it’s sole is comfortable.
