Hey guys....the city is nuts enough to try and pull out the little dinky park at Mt. Pleasant....

Rally is on Sunday @ Mt Pleasant 11am

What the city doesn't realize is that a "beginners park" is basically where all the old dudes will come to hang and drink beers...

haha I would! But who am I? I'm just SHARPSHOOTER, a simple man on a message board. I can't make waves. I was at Mt Pleasant for the first time a couple days ago. Fun park, super small and basic. They need more parks like that in Vancouver, but at a more advanced level. The price and the space are great for little neighborhoods and should be a necessity in suburban areas.

That park is super fun. Simple and basic.
It's just a few shitty complaining neighbors in their million dollar townhomes. That
Have nothing better do do with their lives and can't stand other people living theirs
It would be a shame to see it torn down.

No offense but this is an embarassment to BC skateparks, this is something you'd find in Ontario. A shopping center would do the community much better, 3 foot quarters and flatrails will turn the skaters soft.

^I know you're a dumbass troll and all...but this park was SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED to be a beginner skatepark. The neighbours are complaining because adults keep showing up to skate it. Cmon a bordered off beginner park?? You want to keep that thing? It's a piece of shit get rid of it, competing for BC's worst skatepark isn't cool, the residents deserve something better. Town could have build a pool for the same cost

Have you been there Tracer? This park is super fun and cost less than a quarter of what most parks do? There is a pool about 15 mins away from here. It's far from BC's worst skatepark. I've skate lots of them.

It wasn't always fenced off. They added it way after to deter people from skating all night. I agree that the park isn't the best one around, but it's good for what it is. I would back them tearing it down if they immediately started to build a new one. There needs to be a sick park downtown that's not plaza, since they are apparently going to demolish that when the Viaduct goes down.

Huge turn out for sure. Real diverse group as well. Kids, Dads, girls. Vancouver Skateboard Coalition did a great job setting the rally up.
